If the album version didn't scare them, I'm sure they needed an extra pair of pants after seeing it on the Mirage tour.

All that f*cking screaming! WTF was he on? Sweet baby Jebus!!!! Oooh oooh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Lindsey, stfu!!!

I'll bet NTF is the reason Mirage hasn't been re-released on video! :p

Save me a Place, The Ledge, and Walk a Thin Line frightened them. Honey Hi and Never Forget made them vomit.

The only qualm I have with Tusk (after all it is perfect) and it's minor, is that I wish Never Forget wasn't the last song. I don't want the album to end on such a calm, lovey note. I wish That's All For Everyone was the closing track.

I tell you what's scary:
Lindsey's rendition of Never going back again on the Making Of Rumours

I used to think it was hot. :o  Then something clicked and I was like, um. stfu. But I do enjoy him and John sharing a joint while jamming!

I'm not sure how the songs could have been rearranged to make a more "logical flow" from one track to the next--and I'm not sure such a flow would be desirable. But I do know nothing is stranger than hearing "Over and Over"--a pleasant, glossy, easy-listening tune--followed by "The Ledge", which is one of the most weirdly-arranged/performed songs in rock-n-roll. The juxtaposition of those two tracks at the album's outset seems to encapsulate the spirit of the entire project: two bands working in one, chafing against one another and each benefitting from the other's presence.

Oh Lord, that's nothing compared to Sara being followed by What Makes You Think You're The One . I kinda think the transition from Over And Over to The Ledge is kinda fun. That transition is kinda like, "ok... this is going to be a fun ride." I still find Sara->What Makes You Think You're The One jarring and obnoxious... because Sara totally blisses you out, sends you off into dreamland, and then WHAM! you're slapped out of it . But I guess that's part of what makes Tusk, Tusk.

"Over & Over" is, by far, the worst opening song on any album (not just Fleetwood Mac)...it should've ENDED one of the sides of the LP. THAT was the first INSANE thing about Tusk. Not having a Christine song on Side 2 was next. From day 2 of owning the album, I was busy planning my cassette version with a better (and more SANE) running order.

Louie, the "Sara" to "WMYTYTO" transition wasn't quite as shocking when the album first came out, due to it being an LP and since "Sara" ended side 1, the time it took to turn the record over lessened the "WHAM!" effect of "WMYTYTO"...granted once it came out on CD, that was definitely inhanced quite a bit.

I can't disagree here on either counts. But this makes me wonder: which song should have opened the record? I've never been able to figure out a good lead track. Possibly the title tune. Possibly "Never Forget." Possibly "Sisters."

Anybody have any thoughts?

Not sure it about frightening anyone, but what became The Ledge should have been the chorus of That's Enough For Me.
