I think he may be talking about record sales and then hindsight about the personal stuff. I know I was there during the Camden performance (either the last or next to last show of the tour...again, I forget!) and I think he was very nostalgic and thought things were hunky dorey. But, if he has been reading anything, or having heart-to-hearts with Stevie now, she was an unhappy camper and he was a cad, and all that jazz...so, history might not seem as lovely as it did that warm late summer evening. |

I agree with Lindsey, I think SYW has some good tunes on it, but as an album it lacks that spark and magic I usually get from a FM record. I thought it was sloppily put together as well. Not to mention the opening track is very un-inspiring.

I agree - "What's the World Coming To" is weaker than anything from LB's subsequent solo albums. |

Oh, and yes: this is my way of biting my tongue. Don't get me started on this, because I'm about to explode. |

There was no way he sabotaged anything.
He was completely involved in SYW-the record and the tour. I think he has assumptions about what falls in as a more Fleetwood Mac song, as opposed to a Lindsey Buckingham solo effort, but he's not all that wrong about that stuff either. And, if he put some mainstream stuff on there--that's because FM falls under that category lately. The man was not jaded before the tour. Not at all. I think he was very excited about creating new music with these people. And I don't think he was jaded at the end of the tour. He may be now. He's had a few years of solo work--on his own terms, without anyone playing games with him or giving Mood-O-Meter readings of him to the media, and now he's going back to that. Willingly, but with a different motive this time around. So, anyway. Now, instead of the music everyone is bitching about here (and I love SYW so I have no complaints), we get rehash of the Hits 2009! Whoo-freaking-hooo. |
