There was a poster on RMASN that loved the whole Platinum Weird thing (David O. knows who I'm talking about). I wonder what she thinks about it.

You bring up an interesting dilemma, Luke, but it might be a faulty dilemma. I don't know that Stevie likes Joe better than Bob Welch, but she certainly spent more time with Joe in the past, calling him one of the "great loves in herlife," the only one that she would have given up everything for; but after their falling out, she didn't LIKE Joe for a long time. (although perhaps there's was some of that "tiny spark" somewhere in her heart for him; past relationships are so complicated!)

But regarding the incident that Bob brought up on The Rumours board recently, Bob has indicated he isn't absolutely certain Stevie even got his message. Stevie has helped Bob out on several occassions professionally, according to his Q&A here on The Penguin. Bob was already well known, building on his own name and career in his own right after leaving Fleetwood Mac. Stevie was a mega name in the biz at that time, even according to Bob, within and outside of Fleetwood Mac. I don't know if Bob ever offered help to Stevie on her albums or touring, as he had his own stuff going on. Joe was an opening act for Stevie.

Dragging other Eagles back in for a moment- Don Henley & Stevie have certainly collaborated over the years- and Don is on three of Stevie's songs that I can think of (Leather & Lace, Highway Man, Reconsider Me)--I don't know of any Joe musical collaboration with Stevie. Anyone see them on stage together at all during The Wild Heart tour for anything LIVE? And former Eagle Bernie Leadon helped Stevie out with acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, and background vocals.

I think he might be the one playing guitar on One More Big Time R&R Star. And on one of her tours, possibly TOSOTM, before performing Has Anyone Ever Written... she would say "this is a song about a real scary man in this scary world of rock and roll."

Joe definitely wasn't playing on any of The Other Side Of The Mirror tours with Stevie. They already had their big falling out by then (Stevie's done an interview about that), and, TOSOTM album's "Long Way To Go" was a not so nice song (according to Stevie) written about Joe Walsh.

I haven't heard about Joe on One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star before- anyone else know about that one?

Has it occurred to anyone that Dave Stewart's comments may have been said in jest? He is known for messing with the press so I'm just wondering if the whole thing could have been a piss-take?

I read Don Felder's book too and what he said about Walsh was rather illuminating and helped to explain (at least to me) how he could say some damn nasty things about Stevie on Stern's show. Anyway, Felder was closer to Walsh than the other band members and they hung out together, taking fishing trips, etc. with one another off-the-road (along with one of the guys from Chicago). When Walsh was at the height of his addictions, marriage falling apart, in danger of being fired from the Eagles, etc., Felder personally drove Walsh to rehab.

Yet when Henley & Frey fired Felder, Joe Walsh just stopped talking to him altogether. Now there may be a bit more to that story than is being told by Felder and maybe there were some things Felder did to end that friendship other than the fallout with Henley & Frey, but Felder seemed genuinally hurt that after being there for Walsh during his addictions and recovery (their daughters were also close friends), and when he most needed Walsh's friendship, Walsh vanished.

So that for me was a little insight into Walsh's "character" or lack therein.


But Dave Stewart???? Yeah it would ahve taken a lot of drugs for me to have done him. LOL.

Don't say "I think." You didn't reach this conclusion on your own. Say "In the ENCHANTED booklet, there's a guitar credit for Joe Walsh on this song." Accuracy & clarity keep me happy.

DICK - plain and simple. He's out for himself and will throw anyone under the bus if it means saving his own hairy ass or making himself look good in any way. He's a two-faced back-stabbing kiss-and-tell LOSER whose mental capacities are beyond repair due to his brain being saturated in alcohol for so long. Anything he says needs to be taken at face-value as he's also a NOTORIOUS LIAR!

Come on Felder. Let that anger go. It's not good for you. ;) I promise I'll pick up your book.
