Well, I can put that mystery to rest. :wavey:

I absolutely love that shot. It's so pure.

Ten bucks they play The Chain, Dreams, Rhiannon, Landslide, Gold Dust Woman, Big Love, I'm So Afraid, Tusk, Go Your Own Way, and Don't Stop. Oh boy, I hope they do. I haven't heard those songs nearly enough.

The real scary part Steve...I'm pretty sure that they will play them in that exact order as well. Sure, they might throw a few songs in between somewhere, but I too would bet that those songs will be played and in that order.

Fans of the Rolling Stones complain and gripe non stop about their setlist and how it's always Start Me Up, Jumping Jack Flash, Satisfaction, Honky Tonk Woman, Sympathy, and so on...but I have to say, at least the Stones move stuff around somewhat from tour to tour and even from night to night (to some extent anyway). I mean, how many concerts can you play where the crickets lead into The Chain for your opening? For a band with so many years of material in their catalog, they really are boring with song selection.

Yes, that very well could have been my understatement of the year. Hell, the decade.

I mean, even if they only looked at the 1975-87, 2003 albums...they still manage to sideline a huge chunk of music. It's truly hard to believe. These are talented people with a large backing band. They should be able to pull something else off other than the Big 10 that Steve had in his list.

I'm guessing something like this:

The Chain
Dreams
Everywhere (Stevie/Lindsey duet)
Second Hand News
*NEW STEVIE SONG*
Never Going Back Again
Rhiannon
Peacekeeper
Sara
Big Love
Landslide
Go Insane
*NEW LINDSEY SONG*
Say You Will
Not That Funny
Beautiful Child
Gold Dust Woman
Can't Go Back
Silver Springs
I'm So Afraid
Tusk
World Turning
Stand Back
Gypsy
Go Your Own Way

Sisters Of The Moon (in my DREAMS!)
Blue Letter
Don't Stop

But I'd love to hear 'Angel', 'Storms', 'Straight Back' or 'Seven Wonders' in there. I also think Stevie and Lindsey dueting on 'Love Is Dangerous' would be amazing!

mylittledemon 08-16-2008 06:51 AM

Monday Morning
The Chain
Dreams
Eyes of the World
Say You Will
I'm So Afraid
Thrown Down
Rhiannon
Bleed to Love Her
Gypsy
Never Going Back Again
Landslide
Silver Springs
Sweet Girl
I Know I'm Not Wrong
Sara
Tusk
Go Your Own Way
Beautiful Child

...and that leaves room for about 4 new songs...

Lindsey Jr. 08-19-2008 07:34 AM

The chain
Monday morning
Dreams
Say you will
New song
Gold dust woman
New song
Oh well
Go insane (full band version)
Thrown down (that's an order!!!)
Gypsy
I'm so afraid
Angel
New song
Big love (full band version)
Rhiannon
Bleed to love her
Never going back again
Tusk
World turning

Don't stop
Go your own way
Landslide

David 08-19-2008 10:27 AM

Mack the Knife
Monday Morning
Adelaide
You Make Loving Fun
Easy Living
Hold Me
Rhiannon (sung in sign language)
Crying in the Night
I Cover the Waterfront
Sugar Daddy
Walk a Thin Line (this moving antiwar ballad should be extended to epic proportions, like the jams with Peter Green in New Orleans in 1970)
Illume (this powerful song to be performed by John & Stevie in assless chaps of the type favored by Marilyn Manson)
Destiny Rules (performed straight)

Encore:
Man of the World (with special guest Thomas Dolby)

Halftime (fireworks & performance of Copland's OUR TOWN film score)

(to be followed by ...)

Unmoderated Q&A with band

Bumperke 08-19-2008 04:57 PM

Hold Me with just LB on vocals... Great Idea!!
I love[d...stupid computers..] the demo of just him singing it, so I would probably love this even more.
And I agree 1 million!!!! Percent about Big Love...

Seven Wonders and Angel? HELLZ to the YES!!
Angel should NOT have EVER been dropped..EVER!
and 7w...I like that idea too.

And of course some BN songs, since its not like Christine is there anyways to protest or to fit her songs in.

Oh and No Don't Stop...please?
It sucks without Christine.
Just like every other one of her songs.
minus Hold Me, and that other one I can't think of at the moment, that's not World Turning....[That sucks in general Live IMO..]

Not so excited about any Christine song without Christine. But like your idea of ditching the acoustic Big Love (getting very tired/overdone) for a full band performance, which has never been done before....and probably "never will."

Just Stevie and Lindsey together would be fun like Letterman and the Hall of Fame. And Lindsey could still get to show off his guitar that way, but it would be different than that same darn thing we've heard 20,000 times since The Dance.
