Well i vote for the third, though actually is not my point. I'm a mac fan, not a solo fan, though Stevie is a very good option.

However I never listen a whole solo album, except for Out of the Craddle, it's the best solo album i have listened. I didn't like L&O, Go Insane, Street Angel or Trouble in SL, I mean as whole albums, as I do adore mac albums.

However I wouldn't use the word rubbish, I just say I want new mac albums.. with Christine

Voted for UTS.

In the Meantime is OK, a couple of nice songs but nothing really imaginative.

UTS is an incredible album - love and can't get enough of UTS, CAD, Not Too Late, Down On Rodeo and SUD. And that's after playing it about 30 times!!

I can understand why some don't like the vocals (reverb whiney), but it does work like Lindsey singing in your head. Some songs have vocals coming in slightly from the right, others from the left, as if he's dealing with different subjects in his mind. There is some real creativity going on in this album that doesn't really compare to anything else.

Law and Order is a very quirky album. I bought it ages ago, hated it and sold it. Anyway, I bought it a couple of years later and its great! You can't take it too seriously. Its like a circus performance, loads of experiments slapped into an album. Favs are Trouble, Johnny Stew and I'll tell you now..

Stevie's and Christine's solo work is ok, some good songs but for me sounds a bit bland without edgy Buck production.

Law and Order will always be my favorite LB album. It's quirky as hell, but that's why I like it.:)

I agree entirely. What a fun, refreshing record. I'd add "Shadows of the West" and "Bwana" to the list of great songs--or at least ones I listen to aain and again.

But In the Meantme is excellent through and through. Amng all the solo mac albums it's tied with me for the top spot, next to Out of the Cradle.

That last choice made me puke in my mouth a bit. UTS by default, since I haven't heard ITM.

I don't think this is really a fair comparison. In the Meantime is pretty non-substantial. Just a fluffy little pop album, which is what CM does. UTS is a piece of brilliance - LB's best work, along with OOTC.

henryscutter 10-17-2006 07:33 PM

Went to Barnes&Noble today to get UTS and it was #41 on their top 100 Bestsellers - Not bad

I agree. UTS is (IMO) a piece of self indulgence with apalling vocals and ITM is a well produced intimate album of pop/rock songs for grown ups.
