Ok....true story, I swear this is a true story and it's one I have never posted but, what the hell, I'm going to post it this one time. I worked in radio for a few years and because I knew the right people, I got the chance to meet Stevie during the OSOTM tour. Outdoor venue and I was soaking wet from the concert and I was able to chat with Stevie pretty much after the meet and greet was over. BTW, nothing dirty happened so stop thinking that and I know some of you were....naughty, naughty. Anyway, Stevie is like really short in person and she does smell wonderfull and she does lock her eyes on you while in conversation plus she is really funny and charming when things are casual. I kept thinking to myself, " Damn, how do you NOT keep from falling in love with this woman"? So...she's also wearing one of the low cut stage dresses that would have had all the SOTB/BOTB fans drooling over and yeah, I was checking it out every chance I could get and Stevie notices this. She puts on this wicked smile and asks me if I see something I like. Am I cool about this? Hell no, I turn into a total idiot and say." huh....huh...yeah". Then Stevie laughs and puts out her hand and says,"Very nice to meet you sweet man". I shake her hand and that was it.To this day I can not believe how completely uncool I was at that moment. If I had been cool about it....not a damn thing would have happened but there's that little bit of ,"What if........" that stays in the back of my mind taunting me. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Have a good one, Bill

I actually met Stevie on the second leg of the SYW tour in Anaheim, CA. I knew someone who knew her manager so I scored a meet and greet pass. I wrote this right after it happened so I’m going to cut and past from my journal :)

So the concert ended and a group of us are ushered back stage into the hallway of The Pond. We are in the corridor lined up and I am the first person in a line of about 30 people. After what seemed like forever this little man comes out and says “Ok folks the band will be out here in a few minutes. No autographs tonight. And Stevie says she’s sorry if she won’t be able to do a lot of talking tonight. She needs to rest her voice because they are recording the show for a radio broadcast tomorrow night. You will go in groups of 4, get your picture taken then exit” I was shaking and my heart was felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. I thought I heard the people behind me saying something about standing next to Stevie for the picture and I immediately turned around and snapped, “I AM STANDING NEXT TO STEVIE!” I honestly don’t know where that came from. I’m not usually pushy like that but nothing was going to prevent me from being next to her. They proceeded to tell me they were there to see Lindsey anyway so I had nothing to worry about. Oooops!
So all the sudden from behind the curtain I see John’s head pop out. The next thing I know Stevie comes out and makes direct eye contact with me. She doesn’t even look at anyone else. She comes directly towards me with her arms out. I swear she knew I was there for her! She looked drop dead gorgeous in her infamous SYW get up (even though I bitched about that dress the whole time). She was so incredibly grateful. She appreciates us soooo much you guys. You can see it in her eyes, they are so kind and loving and gentle. Her demeanor was gracious and calm. I also got a very motherly feeling from her which I did not expect. Words cannot express how I felt. She seemed so serene – so at peace. I was so happy for her. I could just see the love in her eyes and how deeply and passionately she feels. Definitely not your average everyday person. Her aura was astounding. Her energy all encompassing. It was so powerful words cannot describe it. She is a kindred soul. I will never forget the look in her eyes - like she knew exactly what I was feeling. Nothing needed to be said. She understood by looking into my eyes as if she could see my soul. She just knew. No Spoken Word! She smelled like lavender. We then posed for the picture. Her arms were around me from the back. OMG. I could I have died! Stevie Nicks was holding me in her arms! After the picture was taken we were suppose to leave immediately but I didn’t care what that man said about not talking to her. I knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I wasn’t going to let it slip away. I said something very personal that I knew she would understand. She made light of the situation and we both giggled. Everyone else had already walked away and security said to me, “Please exit now ma’am”. We looked at each other one last time and I headed back down the hall towards the exit. There was a security guard standing there and I screamed at the top of my lungs “I just met Stevie Nicks!!!” as I ran down the hall and then I jumped into his arms. OMG he must have thought I was crazy. I’m sure she heard too because it was not that far away and I was very loud.
I walked out the door with the lingering smell of lavander. I will cherish that moment forever…

Now that I've heard the whole story, I am speechless. Jealous much? (I ask myself). You have no idea! That is about the best story I've heard. Gawd. She had her arms around you from the back! Tell me one thing. How did you keep from passing out or just shaking all over? I've never touched her, so I'm dying of envy. Ok, I've gushed enough. You are one lucky chick.

Ashley

Okay, I'm not going to freak out here at anyone but I don't really appreciate everyone talking about Ashley and saying they are jelous and stuff. Ashley was born with a problem with her arms and she has limited use of them. I'm sure if she could take the option of having the use of her arms or meeting Stevie, she would take the arms. I've been with Ashley many times and I've seen how things can be a struggle for her. Sure, she's adapted but come on. How would you like to not even be able to dress yourself? I love Ashley and I don't want people saying hurtful things about her. I'm glad she doesn't come to this message board anymore because I don't want her seeing this. I heard that people were saying some things about her over here so I though I'd stop on by. I'm not trying to get angry and I'm not going to curse anyone out but I'd just like everyone to think before they speak. And I don't think Ashley deserves any **** because she doesn't even brag about meeting Stevie. She's a modest girl and she's a sweetheart. So please just think about how your hurting other people before you say something.
thank you~

First off I read nothing of anyone saying anything hurtful about Ashley. I actually just read some posts on this thread people saying they were happy for her.. Sure it's natural to feel jealous of someone who has met Stevie so many times, but it's not a negative thing. No-one ever said they wished to be in her physical condition. You said Ashley doesn't deserve "any ****" well guess what no-one here is giving her any. It is ok for people here to discuss Ashley meeting Stevie, in fact some had not heard about it and were curious. I dont think anything in this thread could be seen as hurtful, but that's just me.

I'm sure anyone who said they were jealous of Ashley didn't think saying so would hurt her feelings and are surprised that it would.

Look, regarding this whole Ashley thing, I had a chance to meet her in Scranton last year, and I helped her touch Lindsey's guitar during the GYOW solo. We've become friends since, and when we talk, I sure dont even think about her disability whatsoever. I've never met Stevie either, and although I'd love to, if I dont it's cool. I'm not trying to say anyone here is attacking her at all, I guess I'd just like everryone to get along. I :)

Gypsy-Rhiannon 07-06-2005 02:34 PM

Who's not getting along? With the exception of one comment (which I hope was tongue in cheek) I don't get that anyone here has been attacking Ashley or saying hurtful things about her. If she had posted her experiences for herself on here I'm sure she would have been congratulated by everyone.

diamondsnake 07-06-2005 02:58 PM

I'm sorry if anything I've said has offended anyone. I shouldn't have started this thread in the first place, I just wanted to see who had met Stevie. When I first said I was jealous of Ashley, I didn't even know she had a disability. And quite frankly, why should the fact that she has a disability even matter?
