>>C. McVie – “No, it’s got exactly what it needs right there. It says so… It feels *unsure.*

The word you have 'unsure' for was 'stroft', by the way. I think this word was sort of 'made up' by Chris, she used it in the 1976 group interview; John said C's voice was "strong but soft" and she then said --combining those two words---"Stroft."

:) Just an obsessive detail that I happen to know.

BTW thank you so much for typing that all out; I am printing out a copy and will keep it w/ my CD.

Thanks so much. What I have of the convos starts at the last part you posted. About the French thing and goes from there.
And you know I have always thought about transcribing the convos between Sara Fleetwood and Beverlee Vance. Some very interesting things said during that. Maybe that will be my next project.

I thought it sounded like that, but I didn't know if she was slurring. You might want to check me throughout the transcription. I think I have several gaps in some places.

I love interviews of Christine...her humour, her voice...I could listen all day. I'm a little partial to the songbird if you can't tell.

If anyone wants me to mail it to them send me a PM with your address. On the CD it also has a phone call recorded of Stevie and a fan talking.

My eyes glazed over much before I could get to the end, but I was (pleasantly) surprised to see how well they were all still getting along. I'd always thought there was a lot of bitterness toward Stevie in particular around this time, because of her solo success, but I guess at least Mick and Chris were able to get past that. Of course, Lindsey is noticeably absent. :)

Lmao!!

Thank you so much for the transcription.......it has given me at least 10 minutes of extreme pleasure during a very boring day.... :blob1:

macfan 57 12-04-2004 07:42 AM

NicksIllume, thanks for transcribing that CD. :) It's kind of hard to hear all of what they're saying just by listening to the CD since they talk over each other alot. You must have a lot of time on your hands. :D

DownOnRodeo 12-04-2004 08:30 AM

Thanks for that!

Where was Lindsey in all of this?? Visiting a graveyard perhaps?

Wasn't Lindsey sick at the time. I thought that fact was mentioned in one of the CDs. Christine asked what do they tell the press about LB's condition.
Maybe that's another tape.

I'm leaning towards my insomniac tendencies once again. "Oh great. Oh fine."

Yes, I have that at the end of mine also. There is a whole discussion on what they should tell the press about his spinal tap/why he had it done.

There's also a part where Chris is offered something and she says, "I don't do drugs." ;)

I guess there is some variety in what's on some of these..for example I've never heard of the phone conversation betwen Stevie and a fan.

Convos

I know what you are talking about Pattie. Besides the above transcribed ones, (thanks soo much for taking the time to type all that out..it was so neat to "read") I have two more. One has a whole conversation about Rebecca and there is alot of talk about Stevie's assistant and how she is going a great job, trying desperately hard not to get sucked into Stevie's lifestyle. The other one has some discussion of Lindsey's spinal tap. Christine asks Mick what she should say when asked about his condition. Someone else mentions the spinal tap and a comment is made about Lindsey "actually having a spine". (ouch!)

I love the one line from Chris regarding Hold Me, when she tells Stevie her temperature will rise when she hears Lindsey singing the song. PRICELESS! (and so true...LB sure can make a girls temperature rise)

Two fans Mike Valentino and Tony got to talk to Stevie and recorded the whole conversation. At the end of the convo Kelly the assisant comes on and sets it up so Mike and Tony could go backstage. The convo is about 20 to 25 minutes.

I think that's the one where they're getting on an airplane. I can't remember if it's the same disc or not.
