I sing all the parts - I like to practice Sharon's stuff for my next career as a back up singer for Stevie. ;)

And I have been known to prance around my living room w/ my tambo - a la EOTW from the Mirage era - where she leans back and then marches across the stage. :thumbsup:

I usually sing along with Lindsey's parts. Sometimes on a Chris or Stevie song, when Lindsey isn't singing I sing C/S's part, but when Lindsey comes in I switch to his parts. Sometimes I sing C/S's parts throughout. It depends on what I feel like singing.

I always sing Christine's parts... which is NOT an easy task as a male with a Bass range, lol (Ok, maybe Baritone)

BTW, on the verses in The Chain, Chris is singing the melody. The chorus and ending, Lindsay is singing melody. Stevie changes her part every few years, lol.

Harmony all the way. I love figuring out what everyone in the background is singing. It's a challenge. :) I've thrown in a third harmony on the top of the chorus of SYW, but I think it adds a little too much.

By far the coolest thing I've noticed so far -- when Stevie's doing her "just think what tomorrow will do" on LIB (probably any of the SYW shows), if you sing what would have been Chris's part there, it's a perfect harmony. I get chills when I sing it.

I know - Stevie comes up with INCREDIBLE harmony!!!!!!!!!! I think people whi know nothing of harmony and the effort it takes to be able to listen to the lead and follow them - think the harmony just happens :laugh:

...which I've always thought is so weird since her speaking voice is so deep!

I sing along with Chris's part the most since my voice is mid-range to high. I try to sing along with Stevie but her voice is so damn low! A good example is Gypsy-- I tried to sing that for the longest time but I just can't get my voice low enough for that register. It's a toughy vocally.

Umm... as a music student, all this talk of adding extra harmonies disturbs me greatly!

I'll bet most of you are just doubling parts in other octaves... The 3 Macsters would make a triad-chord, which is in itself 2 harmonies to a melody.

You can't really add a '4th' harmony unless you're singing something else, like a 7th or something (Music terms! :P), which probably wouldn't sound very good!

Even in the more current releases, there are extra vocals filling the triad... there's not much you can add!

sometimes you're right. but, i find a new blend every now and then. And also, what can be fun, is finding the harmony Stevie sang with herself, which is usually hard to discern, and not that prominent. And i say that a lot of times, fm harmonies are so seamless, that it is fun, and beneficial to the music, to bring out a lesser heard (but awesome) harmony. Seriously, to me, with this band, the vocal fun never ends...make up new ones, blend two into a different one, bring out one that's hard to hear...it's all good.

I don't know a thing about music, but I think it's safe to say we all think we sound better than we actually do - or we know we suck so we only sing our own little "harmony" when we're alone! :)
