By the way, the fallout of the DNC in Boston is going to be huge. Did any of these morons consider for half a second what this convention and the over-the-top security would do the city? Yesterday, restaurateurs and other businesses were complaining about no business, saying they might as well close.

I agree - he did not really bash. he just said here is what we stand for - here is what they stand for. If you agree with them - by all means vote with them. Granted - it was spun in the D's favor, etc. - but it was not "Bush a lying SLB *(#*U)(#$%*)#$#)$" - that was refreshing in today's climate.

In 1979, he proposed military intervention in Nicaragua when the Sandinistas looked like they were about to take over. He wanted to install a US-backed junta instead of allowing the people of Nicaragua to choose a leader.

That same year, he started funding illegally the Islamic rebels in Afghanistan who later turned their attention to the US and as full-fledged terrorists knocked down the Twin Towers.

Oh, and do you know what his CIA was doing in Angola at the time? Eh, I think these examples are enough.

By ALL accounts, Carter has integrity. I am sure he has had to do some things that were not that great - who has not in their life. Plus, Carter plays in a game where the stakes are high and the best result is not always possible. But, on the whole, he is a man of integrity and at least he is trying to make the world a better place. So I say stop harping on the bad and look to the good!!! :cool:

Well, if need be, then I will stay in my little haven of denial right now. You're welcome to try to rain on our parade all you want, but the fact remains, those were some great speeches last night. And Carter DOES have integrity. A person should be judged by the whole sum of their lives and overall he's done a lot of great things for people in need.

And count me in on the "I would vote for Clinton again in a heartbeat"!
