OF ALL THE SONGS THEY HAD TO DROP, IT HAD TO BE EYES OF THE WORLD! IF THEY DON'T BRING IT BACK I'M NOT GONNA GO SEE THEM ANYMORE!

You are funny. You'll be there. Are you having a temper tantrum? LOL

I was floored! I know it's a coincidence that Lindsey and Mick were angling for the same song that I'd made a T-Shirt for (and shoved in poor Lindsey's face), but it gives me a buzz nonetheless! After all, he became so animated when I asked that they consider doing IKIKNW ('in the vein of EOTW' I believe were my words... sorry that it replaced it, hehe! "I don't know my power!" lol, j/k. I am also a dead keen EOTW fan but I kinda knew, after what Lindsey said that if IKINW was in fact added, it would be in substitution of EOTW and/or SHN (which are the two songs we both simultenously said were like IKINW... 'short and punchy' etc).

All those things came to my mind, too Joe! I remember almost the exact words of your post about the 'short and punchy ones'. of course I soaked that up! I'm convinced it was an "assist and score" between me and you. I screamed the title in lindseys face in London when I stood right at his feet next to UK- Neil with his Red Rovershirt on, just a few seconds before LB started with Big Love on november 29th. He smiled. In the preparation for the Down Undertour he gave it some thought, discussed it with Mick and there is Joe with his friggin' T-shirt. So you scored!!!! The bad thing is, they did not choose SHN as dropout for IKINW. ( although i love those couple of minutes to death, too.) But Hey! I would NEVER have thought this would EVER happen!!!! and now i'm not there...snifff

Are we twins? Sort of, but then a long thin one and a short chubby one.

i'm just glad i managed to catch Goodbye Baby done live before it's gone, coz no Sara's could compensate for this loss.

EveryHour 05-09-2004 01:47 PM

Admittedly, my heart literally sank when I saw that EOTW is gone. An absolute pisser and borderline sin:laugh:. Now there is not ONE song from Mirage in the setlist :distress: , although Sara replacing Gypsy is fab...I can't even seem to discuss Sara because I am still in shock (in a VERY good way)! And, dear god, please let my wishes for TITN reach them next tour! And, dammit, we wanted additional new Stevie songs, not replacements!!! No Thrown Down?! I am shocked and disappointed. I know a lot of people think it's a "downer", but I'm sad to see the quiet ending of Goodbye Baby go. I always feel like that's a special little gift for the true fans after everyone else has left. :(

It's funny to even see myself write these things, because once they walk onstage I'll be a blubbering idiot even if they sing the phonebook.

Question:

wonder if maybe they were planning on doing one last song after Don't Stop last night, but because the show started late and all of Lindsey's tech problems during the show maybe they had to cut the last song? I remember before Goodbye Baby would frequently get cut if the show started late. Most of those venues do have a curfew.

Yea that would be awesome if GB is on the set and couldn't be played cuz of this!

I was kind of hoping Goodbye Baby would be dropped in place of something else... anything else... but hey anything that keeps Stevie on stage longer is cool with me...

even if it has to be Goodbye Baby.

diamondsnake 05-09-2004 03:16 PM

Well I think this was an actual written out setlist and not a setlist someone came up with from the concert last night. But I hope I am wrong, because I want Goodbye Baby, Storms, etc. to close the show. A soft ballad must be the last song!

ryan8472 05-09-2004 04:03 PM

I like the set. Sounds like a good one to catch! I was still holding out for Crystal, though...

hayley 05-09-2004 04:04 PM

The setlist posted is what was played last night.

We saw a copy of what was supposed to be the set list last night, from I think one of the engineers in the back, and it was weird because several songs were actually crossed OFF the list, and it said they were going to be dropped... it seemed INSANE what was going to be dropped, so we were greatly relieved when they broke into all three. I have no idea if that bodes well for future shows, but.

The songs-

Spoiler:
Big Love, Come, I'm So Afraid

Uh....could that possibly a very unfunny joke by that particular engineer?? The first and last of those are Lindsey's 2 favourite live songs, and the 3 of them are his guitar tours de force....I cannot even begin to imagine why LB would want to drop any of them...let alone all of them!

KilnHouse 05-09-2004 07:04 PM

I'd have gone for Everybody Finds Out replacing Stand Back. But I'm overjoyed that I Know I'm Not Wrong is in the setlist now.

thx, Fred
