Based on MY vocal ability I'd be limited to Book of Miracles or Sunny Side of Heaven.;)

Don't sell yourself short...I think you could do "Albatross" or "Underway", too!

Believe me, you wouldn't, not the way it's recorded. One of these days I'm going to sit down and record it clean -- just me and one guitar track. I'm convinced it will come out better than when I tried to replicate the original. When I do it, I'll send you a file.

But I'd get to wear a pregnant nun costume onstage.
Style over substance.:)

Definitely, Beautiful Child! I think that I sing it fairly well. Hopefully, someone would have stopped me by now or yelled "you suck" really loudly, if I didn't!

I too am in a band and do the lead vocals. We cover dreams but I would love to do SOTM, Beautiful Child and Edge of Seventeen. The problem is the backing vocals are very intense and beautiful and only one of our guys does the backing vocals and would never be able to the backing to any of the other songs so it's a shame. We get away with Dreams but I would love to do other stuff.

Anyone from my area interested??? WE could have a

FM jam session. How cool would that be!

I'd be happy to help.
Two catches:
- I sound terrible.
- You need to fly me there.

Well that's a shame, I thought I had a deal going there and was ready to dig out the Stevie "BOOTS" lol. :)

That would be SO freakin' cool. Something I've dreamed about forever. A FM cover band, not even for money. We could do it every Sunday! Too bad I live 5000 miles from you.

Imagine the sound we'd have from all the Ledgies doing a FM bit, guitars, bass, drums, vocals, percussion etc, we could do it over the internet, problem is I don't have the technology but it's nice to dream.............

Very cool! I'm in a Fleetwood Mac cover band, essentially just for fun (we gig when we can) for the past five or six years now. We've worked up (or worked over) so many Fleetwood Mac songs I couldn't tell you. However, one we've never tried is the Bob Welch song "Angel" from "Heroes Are Hard to Find," & I love that song. I think I'm going to insist to the others that we at least try it. I recently got myself a Nord Electro v2.0 (which I strongly recommend to keyboard players who play a lot of Fleetwood Mac -- it's perfect for FM music) & you set that baby on the suitcase Rhodes voice with the phaser & you can really kick on "Angel." It's sort of become my little personal Fleetwood Mac anthem.

An old friend of mine & I actually recorded a spacy version of "Songbird" a few years ago in the recording studio at Capitol Records & we burned it to DAT & CD. That's the only complete FM song I think I've ever recorded in a serious recording environment. It's got a hip-hop beat & lots of vibey Korg sounds. I love it when people cover Mac music in strange ways. "Patron Saints of Pop" is one of my favorite albums.

That's brilliant David, I'm jealous now! :( do you have female vocalists in your FM cover band or is it all blokes just doing their version?

sounds good fun anyway and I wish our band would do more FM, we don't have a keyboard player so that restricts us loads. We just do our version as best we can. It's just the love I have for FM's music, I love everything from the lyrics to the whole sound.

Keep up the good work!

Regards.

Lorraine :)
