Well, maybe you're right but releasing Show You How as the first single will help it quickly fizzle out? (as Bandon said) I don't think that's true and besides DOR may well make it as a second single, if there is one. But I stand by my point that Under The Skin doesn't really need singles so much to sell to its target audience. I think the tour and any press it gets will be a bigger boost than radio play.

First you said that the "big audience" doesn't want the classic Fleetwood Mac sound, and then you said that 'SYW' sold relatively poorly because the "new Mac" didn't sound like the old one.

And SYW sold relatively poor. Because that was a new mac. That didnot sound as the old one: exept for those two singles.
Maybe I should have said: And SYW sold relatively poor. Because that was a new mac, marketed as the old mac. That albumdidnot sound as the old one: except for those two singles.
I just dont think that safe singles would gather a big audience anymore, I never stated that quirky ones would. But The risk of gathering NEW interest is alot bigger than when you're trying to comfort by being redundant.

It's all moot since Lindsey is not going to get any radio play.

I just tend to think that when DJs across the United States get that promo CD, they're going to opt not to play "Show You How," whereas they would be more inclined to give "Down On Rodeo" a chance.

The thing is, I have no idea what kind of numbers Warner/Reprise might be eyeing for this release. I'm sure it's something far more reasonable than what they expected for 'Say You Will,' but if it doesn't do at least what 'Out Of The Cradle' did (roughly 54,000 copies), then the danger is there that we won't get that electric album Lindsey has been talking about.

That's the only reason I want this album to get as much attention and as broad of an audience as possible.

You did a great job of articulating my point.

I heard Show You How on one of our public radio stations the other day. :D I realize it's public radio, but hey it's something!

Cool!

Glad to hear it was on the radio. :)

Everyone should go to iTunes and write a lil review. ;)

well..

of course, I went directly to itunes when i heard a new song by Lindsey was available..but, honestly, I can't get into the song after about 6 listens..(this is from a big fan of Red Rover..) it definitely isn't growing on me.. but I still look forward to seeing him next month when he comes to the d.c. area.. I just hope the rest of his new record is better than "Show You How.." .. especially since I'm from Missouri...so show me..

SO you mean maybe someone either than me probably heard it? JK :D You know I'm a fan!

We actually we have three public radio stations in Philly and this one, the one that plays music (WXPN) I believe has a fairly big following.
