Yeah it's a quote, but still.

The misspelling of Lindsey IS correct, though, as that's how it was spelt in the article with that quote from Ryan Murphy last October. He DID say SnL were working in a re-make of an old song about a witch. So I will be curious if Water Witch/Melacine turns up or not.

Cool. Stevie made a CD. In record time. Can't wait to hear it .

While a 2-disc deluxe edition would be killer, Dave only mentioned mixing 16 songs.

Oh! When I saw the first list it had a dash after 1 followed by 24 ... I misread it as 24 tracks instead of the song title. Oops! :o

PenguinHead 07-18-2014 10:53 PM

Face it, despite every one's personal preferences, we are going to get another album by Stevie Nicks! We should be excited and grateful for that.

She has so many demos, outtakes and unreleased songs that are personal favorites that were never intended to be leaked, but yet they were bootlegged, distributed and heard by the masses. The fact that she is readdressing any of these songs at this later stage in her career is simply amazing!

While we all be disappointed that certain songs which are personal favorite were not chosen for the album, we should still celebrate what we get.

The songs that don't make it on the album still exist in raw /demo form to enjoy. And for some people's preference, this is state of how they should remain to be.

Of course, the songs that do make it on the album will either gather praise, or suffer disdain in comparison to the demos. It's win/no win situation either way, depending on your perspective.

LOL. If it had been Mile Post 69 then that would have made sense, because I could see it as a song she wrote while they were traveling on the road, ala SS.

Just as I suspected. The first "leaked" playlist is fake. Dave Stewart himself just confirmed this. I sent him a Facebook message yesterday and just now got a reply...

I said...

"Dave, there was a track list for Stevie's new album posted on her Wiki page yesterday and was promptly taken down this morning. Can you confirm whether or not this is a bogus track listing. It just doesn't seem real.
1. 24 Karat Gold
2. Gold and Braid
3.The Black Space Needle
4. Something Exquisite
5. Star Shine Silver
6. Priest of Nothing
7. My Sanctuary, My Stronghold
8. All the Beautiful Worlds

10. The Maker of Birds - Rhiannon's First Song
11. The Forest of Black Roses - Rhiannon's Second Song
12. Forsaken Love - Rhiannon's Final Song
13. Cecelia
14. The Charmed Ones Remain
15. Turnstile 69
16.Blue Water"

He simply replied, "Wrong."

There we have it.

Stevie's New Album so Far...

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all! Just so everyone knows the Facebook page "Stevie Nicks for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame" posted an unconfirmed track listing for the album (attached). Also, Dave Stewart posted a sound clip from the album here: http://www.fleetwoodmacnews.com/2014...vie-nicks.html

sorcerer999 07-19-2014 12:01 PM

That clip was posted a month ago. It's awesome, isn't it? Also, that particular "track list" has been confirmed as fake by Dave Stewart.

welcomechris 07-19-2014 12:13 PM

Yea it's fake. Where have you been and why are you posting this in FM's page instead of SN

bgsfrk 07-19-2014 12:20 PM

O yea. Im crazy excited. What with this new solo album and probably a little solo tour later, the reunion tour now, new Fleetwood music, and possibly a tour after that material's released, it's pretty nice to be a fan right now :) I'm ok with the tracklisting being fake. There's a couple songs I was bummed weren't on there. Mostly Cathouse Blues

In case you have not been there (or found it yet) there is a vast thread Stevie Recording A New Album With Dave Stewart Producing In Nashville... in the "Stevie" section...This thread details everything from the first news of Stevie being in Nashville up until the present with the most recent point of interest being the alleged "leaked track listings"...

Good luck with the size of the thread and welcome to the Ledge...

Yes, thanks sorcerer999. It's nice to at least be clear on the fact that we're all being trolled.

Trolled in a somewhat fun way, admittedly. These tracklists have really got the upcoming album on my mind a lot these days. It's getting exciting!

AliceLover 07-19-2014 01:10 PM

It just sucks because I was getting used to the idea that we weren't going to hear anything for a while. But now I am just DYING for some new news. A single announcment, release date, track list...ANYTHING! Oh well, I'm sure summer will be a nice distraction.

This is definitely a weird time for Stevie. Never has she had an album done, ready to release, but then have to run off and do a Fleetwood Mac Tour. Honestly, I wish she would do the 30+ dates with the Mac, release the album next March and do a proper summer tour behind it. Not that I want the album delayed at all, but I know once I hear these songs, I am going to want to hear them live!

I'm glad I'm not the only one showing some love for Castaway. Dave Stewart's production and Stevie's vocals could make that one killer track now.

I'm glad the album is coming out soon. While Fleetwood Mac is on tour, we'll have plenty of time to digest (and discuss) the album. I wonder how long after the tour will she get on the road again.

Perhaps she'll surprise everyone and perform one of her new songs with Fleetwood Mac. Not sure they would be too crazy about that! If they do any press interviews, I wonder if Stevie will use it as an opportunity to give a nod to her album. Not sure they would be to amenable to that either.

Considering that some of the "new " songs may very well have been demoed for Fleetwood Mac albums long past this should not be a far fetched idea..Maybe if she agrees to ditch Stand Back  they will be more amenable to the notion.

I can already hear the 10 minute intro on stage about how the song was brought to FM but they didn't like and then it back in the vault and now she recorded it and on and on and on...:laugh:

10 minute intro the first show on tour...by the end of the tour the rambling speech will be 22 minutes long!

Just like many others, I am keen to learn the track-listing for Stevie's upcoming album, but I wonder if it's even been finalised as yet? We know 16 titles were recorded, mixed and mastered for consideration, but I imagine only 13 or 14 might make the final cut, with the remainder possibly turning up as bonus tracks via ITunes/Amazon.com or deluxe editions.
As impatient as I am for details, I guess I need to remember just how quickly this album has come together. I just hope the projected October (not November please!) release eventuates.

welcomechris 07-22-2014 11:35 AM

If I remember correctly 'In Your Dreams' had a few songs almost (or over) 6 minutes long. Maybe 16 songs will make the album

16 tracks, or even 14 tracks on vinyl, will require a double album if the pressing is to be of any quality. IYD would have required a double vinyl release as well - but then again - double vinyl is very common these days. If there is a vinyl release, and they try to cram 16 tracks onto a single record, it will be a no-buy for me. More than 44 minutes on vinyl requires sound distortion, which completely defeats the purpose of a quality vinyl release.

I'm hoping for a 16 song CD, and double LP vinyl w/CD release. I do not want to be screwed into buying three copies of this album (CD, deluxe CD and vinyl) so I hope the standard CD/deluxe CD route is completely skipped in favor of all the tracks on a single CD and one 2LP vinyl package. I don't do digital downloads anymore, so I am not particular about what options are in that format.

Agreed. And it if is released on vinyl (fingers crossed that Dave wasn't just "speculating") then I don't see why they wouldn't do it as a double vinyl LP. They did it for "Crystal Visions".

My advice to vinyl collectors such as myself is SNATCH IT UP once it's released. I have a gut feeling that the vinyl version will be a limited pressing. You can't even go on Amazon or eBay these days without "Crystal Visions" commanding $250 brand new or $130 used.
That's cray!

Vinyl prices through online sellers are almost scandalous. Seriously.

They would be smart to release a limited pressing on vinyl of "24 Karat Gold". Here in Denver at one of the few remaining & very popular music stores Twist & Shout, local news did a piece very recently on the resurgence of vinyl & interviewed the manager/owner of Twist & Shout who said their vinyl sales have recently topped their CD sales. I was sorta surprised, but I guess it makes sense, and come to think of it my last purchase there was used vinyl. They feature a huge section of new & used vinyl in a big room away from the CD & DVD area. And they always feature new release vinyl at the front of the store.

Great store. I'm not at all surprised at the vinyl resurgence. it seems to me to be, essentially, a hipster backlash at the constantly-on-the-go inferior sound quality of digital files. I would never have believed it, had it not been for the 2011 purchase of a real home stereo system with floor speakers, which only served to demonstrate how much like garbage digital files sound when not played through headphones. CDs are nice but the 'loudness wars' (google it) have somewhat tarnished the artistry of music on CD format - depending on the mastering engineer. So, I mostly listen to vinyl these days, unless I am in the car. The vinyl format doesn't allow for the same mastering techniques used on CDs, and often sounds more real and in-the-room.

Twist & Shout has an amazing selection, but I am learning that if you don't buy on the day of release, some titles are going to double and triple in price very quickly when you have to resort to eBay sellers or third-party Amazon merchants, because demand for vinyl is growing at a greater rate than than record labels are willing to produce.

I buy almost every album I purchase on vinyl. The best releases also include a CD. If not, I'll sometimes buy both. Otherwise I decide "Is this a sit down album or a car-only album?" and purchase a single copy accordingly. Stevie is one of those artists that I buy both formats, no matter what. I was pretty disappionted that In Your Dreams did not get the vinyl treatment.

Contrary to Stevie's belief, there are *plenty* of dope smoking people laying on the floor listening to actual, 12" vinyl records.

It's happening worldwide. I heard a report last week that said that while musical downloads and cd sales have dropped, vinyl sales have risen.
