I think about that a lot, too. even though she was almost 80, it felt like she was ageless to us, i guess. i still feel peace knowing john was with her. but sometimes i still cry hearing certain songs or hearing her voice in interviews or seeing certain pictures. i liked knowing she was in the world.

I was on a gay cruise ship and they played nothing but current hits. All of the sudden at one of the pool parties on the top deck, LITTLE LIES comes on. It was extremely loud so I couldn't avoid it. Everyone else's voice became muted and Christine was all I could hear. Of course, I was getting tears behind my sunglasses. But also, I've never heard that song in such a way before. Hard to explain. But, it was the best I've ever taken in LITTLE LIES and the meaning behind her words.

Last week I went to a Fleetmac Wood rave and they did a beautiful Christine tribute with "Why" and a slideshow of photos of her. Imagine a huge room filled with hundreds of rolling club kids suddenly quieting down and coming together to collectively mourn their beloved songbird. It was truly magical, and it was also comforting to see that so many others miss her too.

Side note: If you haven't experienced Fleetmac Wood before and they come to your area, GO! It was so fun and the happiest I've felt since November. Nothing but dance remixes of FM and Mac-adjacent songs all night - and between the expected hits they throw in a good number of deeper cuts for the diehards (a few I remember from this one: "Got A Hold On Me," "I Don't Mind," John Stewart's "Gold," a couple Peter Green songs that weren't the 3 that most people know.)

That sounds like an awesome experience. So cool that you have that. You were at sea with Chris!

I'm not sure if this ever got posted here- Billy Burnette speaking on the the day after Christine died. It sounds like he last saw Christine on the BuckVie tour in Nashville.

I'm pretty sure that I'M THE ONE who notified him. He was posting his usual $tevie pics(that get him the most likes- still only a handful, lol), and I began commenting, "hey Billy, do you realize that Christine passed away today?" An hour or so later he posted about Christine passing.

Okay so it looks like Stevie played Landslide as the final encore and dedicated it to Christine. There was pictures of Stevie and Christine on the projector and Stevie started crying towards the end of the song.

That's because $he can phony up whatever emotions $he needs to.

After all, they were best friends.

^good video of Landslide with slideshow of Christine in this article, but I want to see if Stevie gave a speech before the song. I keep waiting for a video of that on YouTube.

I have no interest in defending Stevie, we all know her weak points, to say the least. but I think this time her tears are real.

I have a friend that I consider my best friend, since the 90s (both he and his wife are my best friends). They have not lived in Peru for 2 decades, and although we don't keep in touch so frequently, I still consider them my best friends. Each time they come to Peru or I go to Chile, it's like time hasn't passed.

I hope Stevie, now that Fleetwood Mac is definitely over, she realizes what Claire Foy said in "Dear Mrs. Kennedy" The Crown episode: That's the thing about unhappiness. All it takes is for something worse to come along and you realize it was actually happiness after all.
