I meant in general when you tell anyone. Many people make the mistake of expecting approval or validation from other people. That is setting one's self up for a heartache as it may take some time. So, many suggest just telling people in terms of you do not want to exclude them from your life, but it is you, not their, life.

So many people get roped into complying with their parents' wishes for cures, etc. There is no cure. You are what you are and all that is just BS.

There is absolutely hope for you, and for anyone else going through these things.

Trust me, I didn't think I'd EVER get to a place where I could say that I loved myself and that I was proud of who I am. My self-esteem was all but non-existant. And the slightest anti-gay comment from someone would crush me, and I'd be depressed about it for days or weeks. I very easily could have been another suicide statistic.

It's why I get so passionate about that kind of stuff now... I hate to see anyone else going through that God-awful self-doubt and utter self-hatred.

Self-doubt...VERY MUCH!
