You guys should just crash it.

There is a hill overlooking the stadium that people go to sometimes and listen/Watch the game. Would anybody be interested in doing that little adventure?

http://www.billboard.com/articles/co...a-concert-2016 Fleetwood Mac has announced its first concert following the Nov. 2015 wrap of its lengthy On With the Show tour. It’ll come in a familiar city, but it’s not the most familiar type of gig for the legendary band. Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers have tapped Fleetwood Mac to perform at their second annual Blue Diamond Gala on July 28. They’ll close out the night with a set from centerfield, following a blue carpet entrance (in honor of the Dodger colors) and a ceremony honoring Vin Scully, the iconic Dodgers announcer who plans to retire at season’s end. The performance will be Fleetwood Mac’s only in 2016, according to the Dodgers’ official web site. The event will also include Dodgers players and coaches, as well as event chairs Shelli and Irving Azoff. The band is currently managed by Azoff MSG Entertainment. Rewinding the Charts: In 1977, Fleetwood Mac Hit No. 1 With 'Dreams' All proceeds from the evening will go towards the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, which benefits underprivileged local communities. Admission to the event -- based on sponsorship packages -- is also detailed on the Dodgers’ site. The On With the Show tour saw the return of Christine McVie (who quit the band in 1998) thus reassembling its “classic” lineup alongside Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. All five will perform at the Dodger gala. |
So are they doing just a couple songs or kind of a lot? Or does nobody know ?

I'm leaving town today. :( Knowing that Christine and FMac are in town. I hope someone gets to go to this.

Makes me wish I didn't live in N.J.

I really hope there is a boot of this concert soon. I have a little theory that Fleetwood Mac have been silent about a new album because they were going to announce it at this concert. Who knows with this band anymore
|
I hope there's YouTube videos of their performance.

John sure looks bad, especially in that second photo.
I sure hope he's well. Stevie looks good. I like her better without the wig. At the very least she's using less help. Lindsey forever tan. He'd give George Hamilton a run for his money. |
From Instagram I saw that they played You Make Loving Fun, Dreams, Rhiannon, Everywhere, Sara, and Landslide. I wonder if they did a full two hours. I also really hope that Sara is on their 2017 set list.

Thanks for posting the link and photos. I hope John is well. He looks ill and very frail.
The video reminded me how much I am over and tired of Big Love in concert  |
The Chain

I guess it was too wishful of my thinking to hope that the USC marching band would join them for Tusk

How can I watch it?
So Dreams is out! Given the type of event it was, set list is better than I expected. Have to agree about John not looking good in photo though. ...... this and watching official clip from Isle of Wight last year - where Lindsey's voice was so hoarse- makes me uneasy and apprehensive about a long tour next year/2018. Hope someone can post a link for those of us not on instogram! |

Dreams isn't out, here's the full set list: The Chain You Make Loving Fun Dreams Second Hand News Rhiannon Everywhere Bleed to Love Her Tusk Sara Say You Love Me Big Love Landslide Never Going Back Again Think About Me Gypsy Little Lies Gold Dust Woman I’m So Afraid Go Your Own Way Don’t Stop |
An unfortunate shot of John not being fully ready for the photo -- that being said he does look awfully gaunt. Lindsey's looking like he put a few lbs back on, in a very good way. His cheeks aren't as gaunt. He def looks the youngest of the bunch here. Stevie's looking like she's relying more and more on fillers. Great to see them all together but it becomes more and more obvious "time will take its toll upon us all". Wish even more they'd get their sh$t together and do something new musically before the choice is taken out of their hands. You do have to wonder about Johnny and another tour that won't start til whenever in 2017 and go for the better part of 2 years.:eek:

Thank you- much appreciated!

How great would it be if they did Over & Over for Christine's Tusk song instead of Think About Me

Awesome that Tom streamed the whole show. It's always interesting to see how a benefit show set list plays out as opposed to a regular one. They definitely cut out a lot of the banter and long speeches, though Lindsey did talk quite a bit during "Big Love." Stevie didn't tell her long-ass "Gypsy" story, which was probably a good thing for this mixed-crowd audience that would be like, "What the heck?" Mick didn't introduce the backup band, which was probably done for the same reason. They kind of hid them behind the speakers and amps.

Random observation: Stevie had a rather large pimple(?) on her cheeck

Damn, Christine looks great in that second pic.
She and Stevie look so happy to be getting paid a killing for playing old songs. Wish they felt that way about new music, too. |
So grateful for the photos and videos
Wow-it's so great to have the periscope video and photos from show. I live in L.A. Metro area, and was trying to figure out if I could listen to the show anywhere outside dodger stadium---Elysian park, dodger parking lot, etc. A combination of heat, a significant commute and time involved with the chance of a fruitless effort had me stay at home.
It's always nice to see new footage of my favorites. Thank you Danielle for posting the Link. So glad to be part of this group.:blob2: |

The L.A. Times had posted a review of the event earlier in the wee hours of the morning that did not mention anything about the concert part of the Vin Scully tribute except that FM was playing. Now, there is a second review of the event that focuses on the concert with a nice band photo.
In my opinion, it's kind of a weird review; I feel that the reviewer kind of doesn't understand the band. If you read the review, I think you'll see what I mean. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...nap-story.html |
Wow, thanks for the review- definitely odd but interesting. I mean, complaining that they played for 2 hours instead of just 40 minutes? For that much money, people should get more than a half hour of music, I think. And the band did make accommodations for the audience, skipping Songbird and Sisters of the Moon, for example.
I was surprised that someone (olive, maybe?) thought they should have played Over and Over instead of Think About Me- I love both songs but they made the right decision for that crowd. And it's not like Think About Me is a staple of their show- when's the last time they sang that song in America? |
Quote:
Over & Over is a way better song than Think About Me, especially live, at least 1979-1980. But it would be cool for the 2017 tour. Over & Over is Christine's best song on Tusk. |

Over and Over is great on the album, kind of a snoozer live. Think About Me has great energy and gets you up out of your seat. |
