More likely drinking is the culprit for colon cancer. It hit close to home what drinking can do to your insides. On the otherhand smoking could be link to it.The Doctor /Registered Nurse ledgies could answer that.
I also agree on crappy food diet can do a number with the colon. I'm on a fiber diet myself and check out fine with the doctor. Got to eat that fiber................................... Smoking definitely will ruin the lungs .It killed my uncle at 66.And some friends too. |
Oh man... why is this thread even here?
Shouldn't we be talking about the music rather than what the guy does in his personal life?!? He's a grown man ffs, if he wants to smoke that's his lookout. Yeah it's not the greatest habit on the planet - but the dude is an adult and who the F*** are any of US to have a go at him for it? Seriously get off the soap boxes it's getting boring. |
If there are threads about Lindsey's past abusive behaviour or Stevie's drug abuse and abortion we can discuss this absolutely legitimate and free (even if stupid) choice of smoking like adults, without need to get defensive.

Two other things concern me here : the invasion of John's privacy as he is filmed and focused on for a few minutes as he's going about his business. This is so unfair to him. The fact that he is famous should not deprive him of his space. Secondly, I'm very wary of these apparently ' professional ' autograph hunters who hang about airports and always seem to have albums/ posters to hand. I've seen the same done to members of the Rolling Stones who, despite their security are hassled by the people as they wish them a safe journey or welcome them while at the same time shove items to be signed straight at them. Most of these, of course, will end up on ebay. Yes, let's stick to the music! |

To me the fact that they are all (as we all are) quite flawed human beings in a weird way makes them more endearing, or more down-to-earth or whatever. So I get why people would be wondering gosh, why would a man who beat cancer once keep tempting fate by continuing to smoke or whatever other behavior that is known to cause that very disease. In this case I'm not really shocked by John's behavior. My dad died of a massive heart attack just a few years ago brought on by super clogged arteries caused by his smoking habit that started at age 13 until his death at 73. He tried over and over though the years to quit, and did quit and several times quit for a few years at a time, but it always hooked him again. I have to imagine John is in the same predicament. Addiction man, it sucks. |

Just today I heard on the news that the WHO stated cigarettes are the 7th most dangerous addiction.

Last night I was thinking about John stuff and suddenly remembered that one writer, Rick McGrath, saying Mick told him John only had one kidney.
Man, I would tread lightly at this point in my life with one kidney. Also, I'd have tried to have more kids in case I needed a donor, some day! Ha. Seriously though, he doesn't have any siblings. Michele |
