As I recall, the paparazzi was pretty cool too, saying something like, "I don't care how old you are.....you're Stevie freakin' Nicks."

I wonder how similar to the Tusk tour is this (and the Unleashed). Probably not that fancy extravaganza and excesses, but sure enough luxury to be comfort on their "style" but also make good revenue anyway. Mick's book about Tusk:

We spent a fortune on the road, running a fat ship. We decided to be comfortable, and we lost control. If Stevie wanted a hotel suite painted pink with a white piano in it, what are you gonna do? Say no? You can't do that in a Holiday Inn! Pink rooms and pianos cost real money. These were my decisions, because they had to be. There was no management company as a buffer between me and the band. To complain about anything, as musicians love to do, they had to address a band member me. People were honest with their feelings under this system, but they didn't like complaining about money. Even so, early in the tour I tried to change to cheaper hotels. All the others complained and I said the hell with it. From then on we went first-notch. We had everything.

I was reading a Christine interview and she was asked about Judy Wong. She said that that was Mick's secretary and when Mick stopped being in charge of everything then Judy no longer had a place. There was no central office. Everyone had their own separate staff after that and managers and assistants who competed with each other to protect their own person's interest.

About Judy, I don't know her latest role in the band, but they dedicated the Tango album to her (when probably she wasn't working with them anymore).

Stevie had an assistant as early as Mirage. When they were recording in France she had Debbie Alsbury and after her came Rebecca Alvarez. I'm not sure who it was after Rebecca. She left in the late 80's and started working for Joan Rivers. She only accompanied Stevie on the overseas tours (I have no idea why her assistant, whoever that was, couldn't travel with Stevie). I guess after her, Karen became her assistant. Chris had an assistant too back in the late 70's early 80's named Chris Kable.

i'm pretty sure karen's sister (who's name i can't recall) worked for stevie after rebecca.

Yeah, that's right. Kelly Johnston. But, something I've wondered - is Karen her sister in law? Sometimes her full name is listed as Karen Williams Johnston.

Robin essentially was Stevie's assistant during the Rumours era. Not sure about during Tusk. Stevie would often call Robin her "speech therapist" though I think real speech therapists would balk at that as she had no formal training or credentials in speech therapy; it was just a title Stevie gave her because she helped Stevie do her steam routine and various other routines to try and preserve her voice on the road.

Danny Goldberg referred to Robin as Stevie's aide-de-camp during that time which is a really fancy way of saying assistant/trusted confidante.

Mick mentions Robin during the 1977 tour:
There were also concerns for Stevie's instrument. Singing with her throat rather than her diaphragm, she began to have problems, and her voice changed into a lower register. Was this caused by overwork? I don't know, but we took her friend Robin Anderson, a voice therapist, on the road with us to try to train Stevie to use her voice differently. But it was like trying to tame a wild thing. Every night, at the climactic end of "Rhiannon," Stevie would rip her voice to shreds. It was a sacrifice she chose to make for her art.

And he also mentions her during Mirage days:
The U.S. Festival was also the last time I saw Robin Anderson.
Robin had been Stevie Nicks's best friend for years and years, and I had known and loved her ever since the wild days in Sausalito recording Rumours. Robin was a voice therapist, and had often accompanied Fleetwood Mac on the road to work on preserving Stevie's voice. One of the most beautiful and beloved members of our extended family, she was married to Kim Anderson, a Warner Bros. promotion guy. She had also been ill with leukemia for the past two years, beginning around the time of the Tusk tour. Although she had been in and out of hospital, and against the advice of her doctors, she became pregnant and was determined to bear her child before she left this earth. The baby boy she bore definitely shortened her young life, but that was part of the heroic nature of Robin's determination.

Hey,
Are Sharon and Lori on tour with Fleetwood Mac 2013? I missed the Boston show and will probably see them 2nd leg in LA (working in my field again, with my best friend to boot YAY) I am a backup singer cultie...well, you know...they are so myserious but we've known sharon and lori forever. I respect Sharons privacy but, that doesn't stop me from going, hmmmmm I wonder if.....
Anyway, this was brought on by running across Jana...and the whole the band told her not Stevie that Lori was back and she was out of her temp job...and she will be Fleetwood Mac touring...is this true?
I have been knocked out by some great quality youtubes but, haven't seen or really heard them.

Yesterday a fb friend of a friend saw John watching the Arsenal v Stoke match at the Emirates. A good win for Arsenal so he was likely happy!

A friend of that friend saw John in Dublin and said his wife, daughter and other family (perhaps his sister and nephew) were with him. Sketchy details but sounds like a nice catch-up with family.

Stars of stage and screen have been spotted in Malmesbury this week.

Suranne Jones, who is best known for playing Karen McDonald in Coronation Street and DC Rachel Bailey in detective drama Scott and Bailey, has been seen in the town during breaks from filming at Charlton House this week.

Fleetwood Mac fan Chris White, a library assistant, was on the bus in to work in Malmesbury on Monday when she spotted band member Mick Fleetwood.

“As the bus was coming up the High Street I thought I could see Mick Fleetwood by the Market Cross,” she said.

“I got off in Cross Hayes and ran back up the high street to find him, but I realised that all I had on me was my cheque book.

“I saw him and asked him if he would sign the book. You would recognise him anywhere. It made my day.”

Mrs White has been a fan of Fleetwood Mac since the 1970s and already had tickets to see them perform at the O2 in London last night.

TV drama star Suranne Jones is currently filming alongside Oona Chaplin and Hermione Norris as a nurse on the frontline for costume drama The Ark.

Our favourite story though is what Fleetwood Mac requested when they toured Australia in the 1980s.

According to promoter and writer Stuart Coupe, the band requested one item in particular which they considered to be a deal breaker: if it wasn’t supplied, they wouldn’t perform.

“For their gin and tonics, Fleetwood Mac requested a specific type of lime,” said Coupe to news.com.au last year.

“But that particular type of lime was actually not allowed in Australia. So Michael Chugg, who was the promoter, actually had to clandestinely fly in from overseas these goddamn limes for Fleetwood Mac’s gin and tonics.”
