It is. I said it's being put "ahead" of - as in this FM project is coming before the BN anniversary release.

Oh, I thought she was just saying that they were gonna save it in case they ended up doing something for the release (Stevie didn't even seem to know when the actual anniversary was ). Not that they were certainly going to.

Of course, I hope you're right and that there are plans in the works!

Yeah - they're doing it. I don't think she's pulling out that oldie to record "just in case". I also think they're putting out with FM to create more interest in BN...which is already being increased with the Sound City movie. :D

 i think they are "putting out" with FM to make millions of dollars for their bank accounts.

LOL! I meant putting IT out, but oops Freudian slip. ;)

And, the millions too! :D

Lilyfan 02-12-2013 10:21 PM

I love how she says she couldn't write a song like that now because she's not in love with anyone like that now and at the same time they are holding hands. How cute is that? ;)

I totally agree.

I can't wait to hear this. I think I might even get emotional when I hear it hecause it'll be like full circle for them, you know? So cool.

I hope they do it at the upcoming shows and NOT drop it by the time they get to Cali.

I know!!! I hope they don't drop anything, really. I would love for them to just keep a set in place. Especially if it's new songs. It's a treat to hear them live for the first time in person and it's nice to have the social media, but still not the same as being there to experience.

michelej1 02-13-2013 12:54 AM

Karen told Lindsey and Stevie to get back to work. Apparently, she was tired of listening to their 100 stories.

shackin'up 02-13-2013 05:18 AM

For the millions they are going to make, I'd Hold hands with all my exes. It's always a bit hypocrite. when I look at them, I think: She'll be telling stories about how aweful the tour and Lindsey was, 12 to 16 months from now...

CADreaming 02-13-2013 10:05 AM

But still, of all the songs to dig out of BN vault - "Without You"!

They could have done "Heartbreaker" or "You Won't Forget Me" or I'm sure others we don't know about.

I know it's sappy to the cynics. But, it's sappy because as Lindsey says - it's sweet. :)

I'm so excited! I can't wait to hear all the new material! To have any nod towards BN is just simply the most divine icing on the cake! Buckingham Nicks is the last thing they haven't truly focused on. I mean, the mainly FM fans have gotten new Mac stuff and the mainly SN/LB fans have gotten several new solo projects from them since The Dance. So, forgive me if I relish in these small Buckingham Nicks moments and thanks for humoring my happy delirium.

See, what I heard SN say was "we were saving it for BN anniversary" as in a matter of fact that they were going to do something.

But again, this may be SN talking out her ars...to publicize FM/her reunion with LB.

I agree that she may have the dates wrong...but if BN was released in 73 then wouldn't this year be the 40th anni? (this is not a sarcastic comment, I just did the math, lol)

Also, this is Not a popular opinion here, but instead of doing a new FM album, why not take the new recordings with WY, Heartbreaker, IYWML, etc and release them as FM on the 2nd disc to a BN reissue.
Makes perfect sense to me.

KarmaContestant 02-13-2013 11:32 AM

Hmm...So Without You is being released, and is going to be a Fleetwood Mac song. That's great, but just reinforces that there will be no BN reissue. As it has been in the past, I believe that this BN talk is just that - talk - to garner interest in the FM tour.

CADreaming 02-13-2013 11:50 AM

It's happening. It's obviously more than talk now. :)

So, is this track (Without You) going to be featured on a Fleetwood Mac release, such as a new FM album or Greatest Hits compilation? I can't see it being released as a FM single and that's it! I can't see them including it on a Buckingham Nicks reissue either if it's being released under the Fleetwood Mac name, although I do hope the original Buckingham Nicks version will be inlcluded on a Buckingham Nicks reissue (if this ever happens). It was featured on the bootleg Deluxe Edition of Buckingham Nicks.

Releasing Digital EP with 3 - 4 songs as Fleetwood Mac and later re-releasing Buckingham Nicks for 40th anniversary - possibly with extras.

Has a 40th anniversary of Buckingham Nicks been officially announced, and if so, could you provide a link to a news article where this is confirmed? I'll believe it when I see it!

Not in so many words - but then again in so many words. There's tons of news articles with quotes leading up to it from 2010-now. Plus the current videos. I don't have time to recap it. But, it's happening!

They really screwed up on the Buckingham/Nicks reissue. They don't have enough time to do it right now.

They're a year behind anyway.

They're celebrating Rumours 35th anniversary this year - it only makes sense that they'll celebrate the 40th anniversary of Buckingham Nicks in 2014.

Best not to post information on this forum unless you know it's true, via a press release. There has been no announcement that a 40th Anniversary Edition of Buckingham Nicks is being released. Please don't post news about releases unless it has been made official by the band themselves or their record company. I have, on the other hand found confirmation that Lindsey has confirmed that Fleetwood Mac are working on new material, but no track names have been announced yet, and I can find no mention of Without You being released.

It's not too late. Lol. (Sorry just thought of LB there)... BN was released September 5, 1973.

We'll see how it plays out.

They talk about Without You in the video linked in this thread. And they have released the other track names - Sad Angel and Miss Fantasy. They have talked about this all in several interviews both in print and filmed.

Did you listen to the video interview where Stevie said they were going to save Without You to be released with the 40th anniversary BN but decided to release it with FM instead? That's as good as official. In conjunction with the other facts I have posted regarding the licensing of two BN songs in the Sound City movie.

Geez, I hate repeating myself.

Believe what you want.

Yeah, if you checkout the recent videos and articles, Stevie and Lindsey say they have decided to release BN. Will it actually happen? Only time will tell. I too appreciate sources and links for news, however, I think most people on this board have kept up with the messages on various posts and can put the information into perspective.

Indeed. The evidence is there.

I just hope you all will buy it when it finally is released. :p:nod::D

May I remind you that Lindsey and Stevie have spoken about releasing Buckingham Nicks on CD in interviews dating back as far as 1992! Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it!

I'm from Birmingham where that album was a big hit. They played it on the radio constantly. Frozen Love and Long Distance Winner were the first two songs I ever heard by them. For me, all it took was one time with Frozen Love and I was a Buckingham Nicks fan for life. Is it overrated? Possibly by today's standards, but back then - it was the real deal.

You're not alone. It's got a few good songs, but it shows me that they needed Fleetwood Mac as badly as Fleetwood Mac needed them. I suspect the fact it hasn't been available commercially for over 35 years lends to its legend.
