Stevie:

SOTM
Angel
Destiny Rules

SYW album needs to be represented, and DR and EFO are my favorite Stevie songs from SYW. DR is just more unique sounding though, to me. So if I had to choose, I'd rather hear it live, than EFO, though either would be great.

Lindsey:

WMYTYTO
The Ledge
Tango
Save Me a Place

I see a few other Ledgies chose 4 songs for Lindsey, so I'm doing the same. I know which of the four I'd (very reluctantly) drop if I had to, but I'm not saying. I want them all :p

You're right, she will likely never touch one of those ones again. Sometimes she is completely ridiculous and enraging! Get over it Stevie, Klonopin or not, there's quite a bit of potential in some of the songs from that era.

There is no reason why tracks couldn't be added and subtracted on a nightly basis, but there is a continual reluctance to introduce anything new. I realise that the blame rests squarely on Stevie's shoulders as Lindsey would seem game for just about anything. However, the band as a whole ultimately agree to Stevie's whims and will only trot out what has been rehearsed to death.
Even if half a dozen rarely performed songs are included in this tour, they too will become stale within a few months. The trick would be to keep evolving and potentially running through their entire back catalogue as well attempting newly written material. Of course, this will never happen, but if this approach was adopted, even the old warhorses could be swapped out from time to time. If this were to occur, I wouldn't be resentful of Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Rhiannon, I'm So Afraid etc because there would be a chance they may not be played at the following show.
What mystifies me about Stevie's insistence upon playing "the hits" is that so many of them are continually ignored. This is more apparent with her solo shows whereby she virtually ignores many of her singles, but in regard to Fleetwood Mac, I can't believe they haven't dragged Seven Wonders out since the Tango tour. So many casual fans of the band seem to adore this track and it would also offer an upbeat alternative to the ill-judged inclusion of Stand Back in a Mac show. The same can be said for the likes of Sisters Of The Moon, Angel and That's Alright - these would all serve to energise the rather sedate offerings we've become accustomed to from Stevie. She really does need her face slapped.

This is exactly what I was trying to refute when I posted all of the set lists for the tours. It has been basically the same since "Rumours", with the same 20 songs - with roughly half being stationary and half being in rotation. I'm not sure what is so mind boggling about their set list. They do what successful bands do - build a catalog and play it for their audience. Honestly, it's not Stevie's fault either, unless you dislike the running order because she probably did "sequence" it. I would bet Lindsey would not be quite as willing to be spontaneous either at this point - ask Elle who bugged the crap out of him on his solo tour and managed to get a couple of squeaks but never what she really wanted from her requests.

So, to think they would ever be in a request taking, set juggling, or truly spontaneous forum again like they were on the White Tour would happen the day that Fleetwood Mac became so far a distant memory in the minds of music lovers everywhere that they couldn't even sell out a bar on Sunset Strip. It just ain't gonna happen.

That, my friend, is what they celebrate every.single.night with their set list -- the fact that ALL those songs are in YOUR mind and you know them and can sing them and especially that you have PURCHASED them - over and over and over again.... and that you're there AGAIN to see them after 35+ years.

Don't misunderstand me, I know it would be so super nice for the set list to be changed every night and different and man what a kick if they would pull out the deep cuts and play stuff we've never heard and prove to us they are still that phenomenal band we all fell in love with.... but they would have to have rehearsed all those songs (something they don't have time to do), they will never go out into an arena full of people and do something off the cuff because it would look unprofessional and be too "sloppy"...

AliceLover 02-06-2013 11:42 AM

Lindsey:

Blue Letter
Book of Love
That's the Way Love Goes

Stevie:

Phil 02-06-2013 08:55 PM

...but I want sloppy! I crave unrehearsed, off-the-cuff and spontaneous. I desire genuine desire from the band, but alas, that is all in the past. Therefore, I won't be seeing this band in concert again.

I'm not putting it on my list but I'll also admit a fondness for "When I See You Again". There's a good song in there somewhere, I swear. I'd also love to hear "California Dreaming", for wishful thinking. Anyway:

Buckingham
1. The Ledge
2. Blue Letter
3. What Makes You Think You're the One?
(After these would be Not That Funny, Can't Go Back, and Miranda)

Nicks
1. Angel
2T. That's Alright
2T. Fireflies
(After these would be the angrier Smile At You, Beautiful Child, and either SOTM or Straight Back).

Out of curiosity I tallied the thread so far:

LB (counting the 4 people who gave 4 songs)
12 Tango in the Night
12 The Ledge
9 What Makes You Think You're the One
6 Caroline
5 Walk a Thin Line
5 Miranda
4 Book of Love
3 Blue Letter
3 Can't Go Back
3 Save Me A Place
2 Murrow Turning Over
2 Not That Funny
1 Bleed to Love Her
1 Don't Let Me Down Again
1 Peacekeeper
1 Steal Your Heart Away
1 That's Enough For Me
1 That's The Way Love Goes

SN
12 Sisters of the Moon
10 Angel
10 That's Alright
3 Destiny Rules
3 Everybody Finds Out
3 I Don't Wanna Know
3 Running Through the Garden
3 Seven Wonders
3 Smile At You

2 Thrown Down
2 When I See You Again
1 Sorcerer
1 If You Were My Love
1 Twisted
1 Affairs of the Heart
1 Frozen Love
1 Fireflies
1 The Second Time

Two of my three picks are in the top three for each, so as far as imaginary points go I'm pretty happy.

i'm not sure what you listed? you have one "hit" song and 2 "deep cuts" from each. we are trying to collect suggestions for 3 deep cuts from each songwriter, and songs have to be their FM songs, not solo. do you want to add one more deep cut to each?

ha - thanks so much for doing that - i was planning to tally these eventually but never got around to it. :)

we will also need to remove solo songs from these lists because they are tallied in the separate threads.

my intention is to eventually put together the setlist consisting of the most mentioned deep cuts, solo songs and regular hits that we were voting on / collecting in several different threads.

With the loss of Bob Welch this year, I think he should be represented (we'll hear enough Lindsey & Stevie):

Hypnotized

Sentimental Lady

Frozen Love only 1 vote after it won that other poll? Wow...

redbird 02-14-2013 11:01 PM

Where would Buckingham Nicks songs go? And when it comes to it, wasn't "Frozen Love" written by both?

Jondalar 02-14-2013 11:06 PM

I want Frozen Love, Holiday Roads, End of Time

from Stevie I want You may be the one, After the Glitter Fades, That's alright

can you try again? trying to collect 3 FM deep cuts from SN and 3 from LB, not their solo tracks in this thread so only That's alright would count - see here http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showpo...89&postcount=1

there was a separate thread for solo song selection for each of them too, and You May Be The One was the SN one that got the most votes actually, closely followed by Soldier's Angel.

no Frozen Love only got one vote b/c it was not supposed to even be in this thread - we are listing FM deep cuts / rarely played live songs here, not solo or BN.

so we will remove frozen love from this list and it will be added to the final setlist as the BN song that got the most votes.

there was a separate poll for a BN song, since they were claiming in some of the interviews they might do one of the BN songs.

I'msoAfraid95 02-14-2013 11:40 PM

Yeah the "in between" era should be represented. There are 5, I believe, great or amazing albums that Mick and John seem to have forgotten about. :(:

Atleast play ONE darn song from that era.

Nicks Fan 02-15-2013 12:03 AM

If I had to chose

SN

1. Angel
2. 7W
3. That's Alright

LB
1. Can't Go Back
2. Tango In The Night (If only as a substitute for I'm So Afraid)
3. That's All For Everyone

And if I had to pick one more song I would add IDWK since I wish they would do this one live for once since it is the only track not performed from that album.

can you guys help me sort through some of the SN songs with 1 vote? i know some people have added some solo or BN songs in the mix, although these specific 6-song selection was zeroed in on just FM songs. i don't know several of the songs at the bottom of SN song list (i know i need to take out Twisted and Frozen Love but unsure whether the others are from non-LB FM phase and that's why i don't know them, or from SN solo albums.).

can someone identify for me whether all these songs on SN list are FM songs?

Yes, The Second Time is a much-maligned but compelling and tender little treat from Behind the Mask. It would suit the theme of the upcoming tour and also Stevie's current vocal capabilities perfectly.

Here are some choices you might want to look at. Perhaps the people who suggested them could give different songs so their opinion counts as much as everyone else.

Sorcerer - SN solo - suggested by hawkeye
Frozen Love - BN track - suggested by hawkeye
If You Were My Love - SN demo - suggested by sleepless-child
Twisted - SN & LB duet/SN solo - suggested by sleepless-child
Dreams - not a deep cut - suggested by cantgoback

That's The Way Love Goes - LB solo - suggested by AliceLover
Don't Let Me Down Again - BN track - suggested by Amlyn
Big Love - not a deep cut - suggested cantgoback

all, please do replace the tracks above with another track if you would like it counted. :)
