I just posted a little bit on this in the "first time" thread.

My first Mac show was this tour in Tampa, Florida. It was at the University of South Florida SunDome and I lived on campus, so all I had to do was walk up the road to the show.

I thought it was a great show. I thought the band did a real nice job. I missed Lindsey, but loved that it took two musicians to replace him.

Everyone just seemed happy, which wasn't something I'd previously associated with the band. I remember thinking Christine in particular was marvelous.

I wish I could remember every single detail. I'm just really glad I have this memory to have at all.

I think I knew. I don't think it's revisionist history.

The video completely sucked the energy and dynamic out of the live shows.

 Good one!

Agreed!!!!

Matthew 10-03-2009 04:34 AM

I donīt think that itīs so bad. Itīs just 80īs style... but itīs true, that it would be great if there would be simply concert video without any changing...

StephenC 10-04-2009 07:11 AM

I saw the tour all those years ago and enjoyed the shows and even though I was just getting into the band, I did note some major gaps in the set:

Rhiannon
Landslide
Hold Me
Gypsy
Sara
World Turning

And understandably missing I suppose:
Tusk
Big Love

Why was "Dont let me down again" included? It's a Buckingham Nicks song written by Lindsey. If you are going to include that, we not have more Fleetwood Mac songs written by him!?

And it didn't need 2 Stevie solo tracks in my opinion.

My mom and dad attended a show from th TITN tour! My mom's always told me she was so close to the stage that she 'saw stevie puke off the side of the stage because she was soooo drunk' (I don't correct her whenever she says this haha.) My dad doesn't remember that, but he did tell me that he had the tour book or tour program from that night but I still haven't seen it. They both said it was an amazing show even though lb wasn't the gutarist.

Rhiannon, Gypsy and Sara were played a few times during Tango tour.

Thank you, Matthew! :xoxo:
I love these Rhiannons where Stevie starts nearly every line of the song with "Well....." :D

They did World Turning on the '87 SF show that was made into the TITN DVD. Remember? It's when Mick comes to the front of the stage and plays his vest and his balls and his body in general, a sight that's still giving people nightmares twenty years later. (Personally, I love watching it...;))

Mick got short-changed on that video!! His solo at those shows was much longer than what he got on the video. I was at that show and it blew me away!!!

On a side note, I do recall fans at that show holding up signs and yelling out "Lindsey who?" during the concert.

Mathew...
Ive never heard this version of Gypsy from the TITN tour. I think I have Largo, Hartford, and Iowa, but ive never heard this one. Excellent quality and she sounds great! Thanks so much!

macpai 10-05-2009 10:31 AM

Definitely have great memory of Mick playing himself. Notice I did not say "with"!

Well, I pick the best for you ;).
I still collect every record of live concerts from this time, and I donīt have anything from Largo, Hrtford and Iowa. Could I ask you to share that? :)

I could offer whole show of concerts Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Fresno and Cow Palace-San Francisco (TITN concert video)of course. And I have also something from Europe part in 1988 (i think itīs better :)) - Goteborg, London and Koblenz.

Hey Mathew -

Unfourtunately, I am away at school and do not have access to my bootleg collection. However, I do have 'Gypsy' from Largo 87 on my Mac that I could upload. I also remembered, I have the Richfield, OH show which does have Rhiannon and Gypsy as well.

Haha nice!
Well I'll tell you if I get a hold of anything, and I hope you'll do the same!

Sure.

AliceLover: Well, Iīm not so interested only in Rhiannon or Gypsy. I just like Tango tour generally. If there is any good quality record, Iīd really like to have it :D. Something from 1988 would be better, but probably there isnīt much stuff from Europe concerts like from USA.

Someone posted the soundboard recording from London '88 a few weeks ago on the Ledge.

Matthew 10-09-2009 01:25 PM

Yeah, I know, Iīve already had it.

I agree with you on isn't it midnight as well, possibly the stand out of the whole dvd imo. and stevie does enhance it with the wells.

I also like the kind of haunting echoey sound of dreams and gold dust woman, but Seven Wonders sounds more like a country song to me on this dvd.
It's way too slow...

I totally get what you mean about abbreviatted set lists on dvd's, it's thoroughly annoying... can you imagine the red rocks dvd with i can't wait and the wild rhiannon she did on that tour.

And what about the filmed White winged dove performance from LA in 1981, it would have been awesome to have blue lamp and how still my love on that video/dvd....

Why do they do it to us!!!!

The footage of them has to be out there somewhere... right?
