Well, I thought that Storms was awesome! Really great! Stand Back was great but I think Stevie was a little bit nervous 'cause it was the first show....maybe....it's just the first, you know, we will see many more Stand Back performance, both you in the U.S that'll be on the shows and we in Europe that will watch it on youtube...:) (I hope they'll come here to the summer!!)
Thank you A LOT for posting thise videos so fast here! You rock! Peace and love, /Belladonna93 |

WWOOOWWWW THAANKS!!!
Can't wait 2 months for Dallas!!!!! |
thankyou desertangel...fantastic! Ohwell is a special treat and I never tire of ISA...TESTOSTERONE>>>>Stevie gets pouty when she isn't the center of attention...shouldn't we all know that by now? I'm not so sure she will be getting any 'happier' as this tour moves along. IMO, both Stevie and Lindsey would be better off with their solo gigs...they both seem to enjoy that A LOT.

I agree with everyone else about Sisters. I'd **** twice and die if they did it live.

Somebody should tell Stevie that when she shouts, it doesn't always sound that great. Same with Lindsey - he likes to sing some parts really slow and quiet, which works sometimes, but not all the time. But the last minute of Oh Well was on fiaaaahhhhh! |

[QUOTE=jmn3;801489] I'll bet that with Storms, Beautiful Child was put to rest. I couldn't see Stevie doing two relatively unknowns from Tusk in one set. /QUOTE] Exactly. Quote:

I'd be willing to bet Storms really comes into its own as the tour progresses. She has never sung this in front of an audience before and I'll guarantee she had some nerves. I agree about the high parts being a bit much, but I was there, and it really translated well. I didn't see it as lull in the show where the whole thing fell apart. People were pretty transfixed on watching them perform this great old tune.
Gypsy was a clunker and it's been a clunker always on stage. The Dance DVD version was alright, and the Mirage Tour video version is classic in its own way, but neither of them, nor any version I've ever heard, have ever lived up to the magic that the studio version has. That truly was and is perfection. My biggest disappointment (performance wise) last night was honestly Go Your Own Way. This is my favorite song of theirs and probably favorite song of anyone. I love it. I've loved every version and listening to the subtle changes through the years. Last night I just found it very blah to listen to. NOT the solo, but the verses. The solo is legendary as always, but the verses seemed to be arranged exactly like Lindsey's solo tours. I don't know how to explain it, but listen to a 2007 LB solo version and then a version from the SYW tour. Generally with the Mac, the song seemed meatier, heavier...something. The same with I'm So Afraid and Tusk...I just wasn't altogether too thrilled with the LB solo tour-ification of these songs. |
What are people putting in for keywords & titles on Youtube? If you do a general search, you can't find the vids. I tried Fleetwood Mac, Fleetwood Mac Live,
Fleetwood Mac Pittsburgh, Fleetwood Mac 2009, etc. Nothing. If you want more hits on your vids, you gotta put plenty of info in the description. :wavey: I found Don't Stop. Painful to my ears, and I don't mind the SYW versions. |

^ Me too, but I haven't found it yet either. Doesn't seem to be much on Youtube yet. Hopefully someone got the full show on DVD & the boot will start circulating soon.

Since I am goinmg to meet Mick Fleetwood in Ottawa I think I will ask him
about Seven Wonders and SOTM. Who knows maybe they will ressurect them by the time the tour is over. Matt |
Silver Springs
I think that version of Silver Springs was the best, vocally, that she's done at least since The Dance tour. I'm glad she did the "never get away, never get away, never get away."
Hopefully as the tour progresses and she loosens up, as she usually does, she'll not only sing it with force, but sing it AT Lindsey, that always makes for some entertainment. |
Yes please ask him about seven wonders and then stress to him the importance of adding in SOTM and while your at it tell him we want a new album after the tour, HA! :)

I was pleasantly surprised, actually. Gave me chills. Not sure why. :p |

That wasn't bad. She really hit her stride near the end. The first half was nasal and off-key (sometimes!) It sounded like she was just getting the feel of the song, so hopefully she'll figure it out. 5:00 - the end was right on.
At least she got Sara right. |

Don't Stop is being played a step lower in D, for those who are musically inclined.

I wonder if the vocal coaching is actually degrading the quality of her interpretations? It sounds as if she's trying so hard to maintain vocal control that she's not varying her voice at all. I think The Dance was the last time we heard more dynamic vocals and that was before she started regular voice coaching. On The Dance, she occasionally summoned that breathy quality that has since disappeared (e.g. the "rock on, ancient queen" section on GDW). This is not just a problem in concert but on studio recordings as well. The only vocal variation of any significance that I can recall since The Dance was that rare moment of semi-falsetto on "Sorcerer". |

Uh...I was talking about Silver Springs. I am not happy with Storms. :distress: |

Listening to the live "Storms," I can't help but wonder whether her vocal coach is encouraging her to project from the diaphragm for every song, which is supposedly considered "proper form." But I suspect this is something you would do only in an un-mic'd setting, e.g., Broadway musical or cabaret, where singers are taught to project to the last row of the venue. Her phrasing of "Storms" strikes me as being a bit cabaret-ish- where she sustains notes that really should have been clipped, and oversinging/over-enunciating passages that should have been whispered or slurred a little bit. But then again, maybe she is rendering a new interpretation of "Storms." The original is more of a quiet, introspective cry-yourself-to-sleep soliloquy. The live version sounds more anguished, more angry and self-flagellating, especially where she screams "...so I searched to find an answer there..." Sure one can argue that she phoned in her Pittsburgh performance for the most part, but this is the one song where she really connected with the emotion of the song. Vocals aside, I lurv, lurv, lurv the live arrangement of "Storms." I was wondering how they would have been able to pull off such a production-specific arrangement live, and I think it was done incredibly well. In fact, I would love to hear a new FM album of nothing but stripped down arrangements- a single guitar, percussion, bass and Fender Rhodes... |
