I heard she is going to use this instead of the 'Bootylicious' intro for this tour...

I completely agree :distress: I just dont understand how people really think that rap is a form of music {JMO}, I dont hate rappers, and I dont disrespect them, just the themes of the music, plus its not easy to sing to

also, you just dont ruin a great song like 'The Chain'..EVER....
or any Fleetwood Mac {lets include beatles in this too} for that matter...

Thank you. at least someone agrees with me:laugh:

but i dont know about the other four. they seem more...conservative if you will about the way they make music[listen to a Stevie or Chris album...and tell me if you didnt know better you might think you were listening to FM  ]

I mean...its just rap to me, so I wouldn't like it [and I am of the 'rap/emo' generartion ], I've never gotten into it. I don't think I ever will, but I do give them props I guess for trying...

yeah, i think you're right about lindsey & the other members. actually stevie might like it since she's an r&b singer at heart ... but i hope that they would ultimately feel honored that a hip-hop group chose their 30-year-old song to sample.

ok, let me just say at this juncture that i'm glad i didn't have anything liquid in my mouth when i read that. my computer is glad, too.

i think this song is kind of a cool thing. i don't love it - but i don't agree with whoever further up said it ruins the chain. or that it's practically blasphemous. i totally disagree with that. i think it's actually a nod to its genius. a sign of respect.

(but that little stevie diss still had me laughing my a$$ off! )

sparky 05-21-2007 10:41 PM

They did some interesting stuff with the rhythm that overlays the track.
But my brain just shuts off when people start rapping. I hate it. I suppose it could have been worse, though.

desertangel 05-22-2007 04:19 AM

I can see why some people wouldn't care for this song just from a lyrical standpoint. Thankfully my brain has a hard time interpreting these types of lyrics. Theytalkway2fasanway2ghettofohmahbrayntounahstan. Probably because I don't listen to it over and over... can't or I would need a sedative. I had to Google the lyrics. Can't see any Mac members caring for it from a lyrical standpoint either. JMO.

Did someone say they bought the ringtone? How is that working out?

slavery -> perseverence -> the blues -> social discord (usually expressed as the "mystery to me" of female sexuality) -> special sensitivity -> music (as symbolized by "harmonizing") -> the chain that holds both the mac and btnh together

Furthermore, the mac represent the last era (from the Mac to MJ) where pop artists strove to unify a large "mass" audience while recognizing and bearing the burdens of the age.

That's a profound legacy to which Bone Thugs pay homage, while likening their own misfortunes (two fallen band members) to contemporary lack of fraternal feeling. Say you will, indeed. . .

Now really. this says it all.

a screen cap is basically a snapshot of your computer screen. i haven't used vista but i'm pretty sure that's what the snip tool is, or whatever you called it.

Well. My first college laptop was a swanky Windows XP (named Jenny). I wanted an Apple, also, partly because they're awesome and partly because they're recommended for my major (photojournalism, represent!). But I didn't want to spend that much money on one. So I spent $1000 some for the Windows laptop.

It was fine for a while, then my school announced that Vista was available as a free download from their server, so I went ahead and downloaded and installed. The first time I tried to install, it froze up at 77% or so for about 3 hours and never went further. I tried to install again (not the best idea, but in college your computer = EVERYTHING), and it just royally killed my computer. Half the stuff that should work (sound cards, etc) didn't anymore -- and Jenny was Vista-compatible (she even had a nice sticker on her declaring such). I couldn't uninstall Vista to go back to XP. It got rid of the partition of my harddrive that had the Restore software on it, and my laptop didn't come with it in CD form. So I was screwed for a few days because Jenny just started dying.

So I took out a loan from my college (they lumped it in with my financial aid) and got me a MacBook, Kianna, which was influenced by the fact that I was using software in my journalism classes that I had tried to use on Jenny but made her freak out on me (freezing, etc). It's been a little more than 3 months since I bought it, and I've never had a problem with it and I can finally run all the programs that I couldn't on Jenny.

So in short, Vista ruined my life for a few days and then I got a MacBook and my life is complete. Now back to your regularly-scheduled thread.

carrie721 05-24-2007 09:41 PM

that story makes me so sad and mad every time i read it. i can't believe it just fried jenny. :distress:

She's always been barely alive. :distress:

I was super angry. I don't think I'll ever go back to Windows. Kianna's kicking ass, though. I got so excited when I found out I could use InDesign without any problems. Take THAT, Jenny!!1

I hope I'm not the only one who names their computers. :o

heeee. My first iPod, may it rest in peace, was "iThink, Therefore iAm." I'm a geek.

My current iPod is Neely. Since Neely & Kianna are a team. Sort of like how my password for Jenny was "blake." Blake turns Jenny on, etc.

Team Rilo ftw!
