In terms of charisma i would have voted Chris as well, shes by far the funniest. i love the interviews shes in because she always livens them up when the others get really serious like the laura gross interviews. they'd be boring without Chris. But ultimately talent wise and material wise Linds is the man

WelshWitchPMD 11-26-2006 09:09 PM

Big surprise here. LINDSEY!! Gets my vote for fav member. :o ;)

Nico 11-26-2006 10:10 PM

Lindsey all the way!!! Forever.

SteveMacD 11-26-2006 10:32 PM

I put Mick. It's actually Mick AND John for me, but nobody had voted for Mick. I admire Mick's determination in keeping the band together. It may have been the absurd thing to do at times, and cost him at least one marriage, but, as a listener, I've always found the results rewarding.

I can see what you mean and I agree. Without Mick there would be no Fleetwood Mac and I´m always surprised to see him end up last on EVERY list. John will always be number one for me, but Chris and Mick are definately 2 and 3 on my list. No doubts there!:D

macfan 57 11-27-2006 06:26 AM

Obviously, Chris is my favorite, by a mile. Bob Welch & John McVie are #2 & #3, respectively.

michelle2677 11-27-2006 02:16 PM

I love each of them for different reasons
lindsey-the mad hermit guitar player-"just leave me alone with my guitar in the control room and I'll be just fine" But I'm also glad he's coming a little out of his comfort zone and seems to be having fun with it. Not to mention wonderful guitar player

Christine-she could kick your ass and not bother taking names!! But then again, she is so classic and has, no doubt, a beautiful voice. Wish she hadn't have left the band  maybe someday....

Mick-Jesus. That's all I can say...He's crazy and adds that element to the band.

oh, how I love john. He seems to have the look on his face of "god, I don't KNOW these people!! just leave me alone, and let me tear up this awesome bass riff. " Cracks me up. I know he's had his share of drama, but he just sits in the back and does his thing

Ultimately I had to go with stevie. I connect with her lyrics the most and I don't care if she's singing the phone book-it's done with conviction and she believes EVERY word of it.."oooohh...weell....adam adamson......ooh yeah....and john smith....la la..." plus I dig chiffon, man.

  well..I would prefer it be.."weelll..you can taaaallk to me....michelle26777777777777"

chiliD 11-27-2006 02:24 PM

How can I honestly vote in a poll that is so blatantly incomplete?

Here's mine:

1) Peter Green (the one & only "without whom there wouldn't BE Fleetwood Mac" member)

2) Rick Vito

3) Bob Welch

4) Danny Kirwan

5) Billy Burnette

Ok, we've gotten through my Top 5...none of which are listed in the poll...anyone catch on to the POINT, yet?

6) Jeremy Spencer

7) Christine McVie

Right...so it takes us to #7 until we get to the first person who is on the poll ballot. Now...can we start over with a REAL poll?

chili, please. i know you've got an ax to grind, but this is the rumours forum. all members of the rumours-era FM are listed. besides, you can only have 10 options for a poll ... we'd never be able to have a poll that included all 483 members of FM.

i don't think stevie's a numbers person ... she'll never remember your screen name. :D

Well, that's still 5 more options than we were given. I don't give a crap about what section it is posted in, it was stated as "fave Fleetwood Mac member"...there was no specific incarnation mentioned. And, yet again, I will point out to those who are ignorant of the fact that the Rumours incarnation was not, is not, and will not ever be, the "be all, end all" of Fleetwood Mac.

i think posting it in the rumours section implies that it's talking about the rumours-era band. the vast majority of people here know there is FM outside of rumours. whatev.

Well, from reading posts here & elsewhere for the past 12 years or so, I wouldn't automatically assume that.

wondergirl9847 11-27-2006 04:44 PM

How about no poll?

Why not just ask everyone their fave member and don't do an actual poll at the top?

My fave members are Lindsey, followed by Stevie and then Danny Kirwan (although, they are getting tied more and more each day for second place)...then the rest. ;)

That's why I went ahead and gave my shout-out to Bekka in the runner-up position for me. :wavey:
If we're going there:
1. Christine
2. Bekka
3. Stevie
4. Lindsey
5. Mick

goldie 11-27-2006 06:34 PM

Stevie. But only when Lindsey has some time of involvement do I like her best.

pfft!! stevie is much brighter than that. o.k. I'll tell her she can knock off the 26 and just do "77777777" and don't give me that crap about not a "numbers" person.

two kinds of love
one for the way you walk
one for the way you love me, baby

regarding the rest of the thread. funny. too funny. There are ALWAYS going to be those that favor the rumours line-up. Then there are ALWAYS going to be those other people that think they are completely stupid and close-minded. It's been that way since the beginning of time (or..at least since 74) and it will continue to be that way. Can we please just come up with something else to argue about? There are more important things to deal with here. I mean, jiminy cricket. Pamela Anderson filed for divorce. The world is in a mess now.

You get the people on the Beatles board to stop with the Lennon vs McCartney squabbles, then we might have a chance at the Rumours vs the rest of Fleetwood Mac battles to cease. Basically, three chances at that...slim, fat, & none.

then we'll have to agree to disagree :xoxo: btw i dont think the rumours lineup is the end all be all. But i do prefer them. now... Let me guide you to the fabulous "bop" i found  :p

gypsysoul 11-28-2006 01:44 PM

No-one could compare with Stevie in the 70's.
Christine made her mark in the 80's
But Lindsey is still at the top of his game so my overall vote goes to him.

Most of his fans are probably too cool to vote in polls like this though!

Thinking more of the guitar boys. Can't see them coming on here

It's hard to guess the humour the poster gets when he's reading a post and answering, but here it seems to me that chili is really upset. Don't know why.. this is jsut a simple poll, no more.

It's logical to think in the Rumous lineup as the Fleetwood Mac band, by default. Of course it is not, I think this band is one of kind specially because of aaaall those incarnations. But the Rumours lineup is the most famous, succesful and popular.

So I think that selecting these 5 people for this poll (and no more) is not big deal. Of course we don't forget Peter, Rick, Billy, Jeremy, etc... etc.. but this is just a poll, nobody is denying or forgetting anything

billwebster 11-28-2006 05:09 PM

I'd have to vote for Billy Burnette, but he's not eligible in this poll, so I went for my dad's favorite singer, Christine McVie instead, since my dad doesn't know about how to handle the internet, nor desires to do so.

I don't mean to speak for Chili, but I think he's fine. Too many people just ignore the other incarnations of the band, and I think he finds that disrespectful(I know I do).

Yeah, I'd say most of her fans have nothing better to do, than hang out here all day. Face it, she probably does have the youngest demographic, which is more likely to be hanging out on the internet......

I voted for John. The man is awesome!
