I'll just keep voting until it goes.

Round 1 - Save Me A Place

I'm just gonna keep voting for this, no matter how many times we have to start over!

Bryan 08-31-2004 10:10 AM

This is bullshit

SMAP is gettin' targeted 'cos it survived so long last time. It's a 'revenge' for Sara in a way.

Not true, Bryan. I have been trying to get rid of SMAP for a loooong time. I love Lindsey, but I do NOT love this song. It has nothing to do with Sara.

ryan8472 08-31-2004 10:23 AM

Not a vote!

Oh cmon. Why is it that whenever SMAP is about to get axed, people have to start crying foul?

Round 1: Honey Hi!

and yes, it's a strategic vote:D

Cristian 08-31-2004 12:24 PM

Round 1 - Honey Hi

I hate strategic votes but I don't want "Save Me A Place" to leave yet (I think it's one of Lindsey's greatest, mind you), and "Honey Hi" is easily Christine's weakest song in this album... although I still like it much more than others.

The confusion of last game had nothing to do with a song. It had something to do with unclear rules.

It's just brainless to vote for a song because it survived in a game where the rules weren't clear. No. It's an action against posters. not against confusion. How can you strike against confusion by picking a song in a new game??

I hope I'm still in the neighborhood of people who can be proud of fellowfans who fight for a song they totally love. Even if it is not your song.

Round 1 - Not That Funny

Not a very useful vote but I'll stick to it... for now :)

Round 1 SMAPSMAPSMAPSMAPSMAPSMAPSMAP

The more i listen to tusk reissue disk 2 the more i love Brown Eyes, the subtly strange chordage and the words...and the more I like Christine's songs in general, though they are not my usual type of song at all....

I don't know about anyone else, but I voted for "Save Me A Place" because it's truly my least favorite song on the album.

I love the harmonies and the arrangement on "Honey Hi"... I love the erotic moodiness of "Brown Eyes"... I love the discordant sounds of "That's Enough For Me," "I Know I'm Not Wrong," "The Ledge" and "Not That Funny"... I love the quirky but beautiful "That's All For Everyone" and "Walk A Thin Line"....

I actually love every song on the album but "SMAP," so I'm voting for my least favorite first.
Which is what I did last time, too. And I do believe that "SMAP" is honestly the least favorite song of at least many of the other people voting against it.
Just as I believe some people honestly despise "Sara," and some people despise "Honey Hi," and some people despise "Beautiful Child," etc.

Either way, my vote has nothing to do with "revenge for 'Sara.'" :)

Yeah! And that's the perfect description I was looking for for Brown Eyes...Erotic Moodiness....Love ya, Johnny! (Sara revenge.. pffftt!!!)

I can't believe the hate for Sara! If it is so hated, how did it become one of FM's biggest hits? Huh!? Seriously, it isn't so bad.

I can't either. While not my favorite Lindsey song on Tusk, I think SMAP is a beautiful song. And Sara's just . . . Sara. I love it.

Sara isn't "so hated." In my opinion it's one of the main favorites of the Stevie fan community. I am not, however, voting for it in strategy, but because it's my least favorite on Tusk. No, I am not kidding, or I would not have just said that. Seriously speaking, it is too slow, monotonous, and exhibits few of the artistic and creative nuances I enjoy in Stevie's work; namely, I miss the emotion, and climactic elements that make her songwriting beautiful (ie Silver Springs, GDW, Storms.) The end result is a bathos that puts me to sleep when I decide not to skip it (which is not often.) Not to mention she says "drownding"

Now feel free to fire away, but I will continue to vote until Sara is gone because it is mundane and certainly not extraordinary. (This is obviously my personal opinion or I wouldn't be saying it.)

LOL that's always bugged me too! I do think that she's saying 'drowned in', I'll give her the benefit of a doubt. I'm never gonna let Sevie get away with her 'oo-ahs' instead of 'er' tendency though. "who will be her lovooahh", "it's just like a rivooaah..." etc.

Vote tallying has begun - if you've yet to vote, get to steppin'! Obviously there is a heated race between two songs this first round. Will "Save Me A Place", which lasted so long in the last game, become the Tina Wesson and get the first boot this time around? Or will "Honey Hi" claim the throne in "Tusk Survivor All-Sucks"? Stay tuned...

Round 1 - Walk a thin Line

I think this is the worst song of the album, in my opinion of course. lol

I much prefer the "eroticism" of Sara, which is much more subtler and effective. Chris wouldn't know erotic if it flew up her skirt.

I never thought of Sara as particularly erotic - but if i did, I would think it a mite more cliched...drownding in the sea of love? And I think Christie WOULD know it, I just think she may not talk as much about it...and those who don't talk about it....

Not the "sea of love" line, that one's cheesy. I'm talking about the "undoing the laces" line. That blows any "erotic" line from Chris out of the water. She writes fluffy love songs, nothing more, IMO.

I don't know which is the undoing the laces line...I probably can't understand it. I would love it if you gave me a bit more context so i could figure it out, but...and usually i agree she writes fluffy love songs, however, in the case of brown eyes i think it is different, and moodily erotic, or whatever johnny said. So there, too.
