We saw a copy of what was supposed to be the set list last night, from I think one of the engineers in the back, and it was weird because several songs were actually crossed OFF the list, and it said they were going to be dropped... it seemed INSANE what was going to be dropped, so we were greatly relieved when they broke into all three. I have no idea if that bodes well for future shows, but.

The songs-

Spoiler:
Big Love, Come, I'm So Afraid

Uh....could that possibly a very unfunny joke by that particular engineer?? The first and last of those are Lindsey's 2 favourite live songs, and the 3 of them are his guitar tours de force....I cannot even begin to imagine why LB would want to drop any of them...let alone all of them!

KilnHouse 05-09-2004 07:04 PM

I'd have gone for Everybody Finds Out replacing Stand Back. But I'm overjoyed that I Know I'm Not Wrong is in the setlist now.

thx, Fred

I will miss EOTW and WTWCT but I am so knocked over with a feather at the inclusion of I KNOW I"M NOT WRONG which has been a favorite of mine for years!!!

lol! It was late when I wrote that, ok. :p Interesting song! ('Sara Rover'?)

Thanks!!!

Thank you to all who gave their reviews and tidbits!! I cannot WAIT until the Dallas/Houston shows!!!!!

Red Rover...Uh....mah.......gah...... I haven't listened to the other songs yet, this one will be on my playlist for a LONGGGGG time. LOL I'll eventually listen to Sara, DR IKINW and DLMDA.

SillyDreamer 05-09-2004 09:56 PM

Keep in mind, though, that a lot of times during a Chris song or especially during a drawn-out Lindsey song (Not that Funny comes to mind), Stevie wouldn't even be onstage. She'd be changing, or snorting, or what have you. So maybe it was just a circumstance thing. i always wondered if she couldn't once be as courteous to them doing their songs as they always were to her, though... rhiannon kicks notwithstanding...

DownOnRodeo 05-09-2004 11:15 PM

Gerald, have you downloaded IKINW from http://www.bluewhitefire.com ?

They ROCK it!!!!!!! It's perfect!

And the vocals at the end of DR are greatness.

I think the very reason Fleetwood put "Not Wrong" in the set is totally due to Joe, folks. I don't think there'd be a chance in hell they would have started playing this were it not for the lyrics to the song splayed across Joe's shirt!

I just wish they'd kick the umpteen backup players to the curb.

wondergirl9847 05-10-2004 12:05 AM

Lol!!

Perhaps we should all wear shirts with various rare songs on them...Frozen Love, Murrow, Oh Well, Green Manalishi, Sorcerer (OMG, I'd die!!! LOL) and then, we can get the setlist we all crave. Heh.

Thanks to Gerald also for screaming it at Lindsey in London!! :)

I'd like to think I was the one who got him to do Red Rover since I told him how much it meant to me in the letter I gave him in London. ;):)

DownOnRodeo 05-10-2004 12:09 AM

lol David, I'm guessing you're being facetious :D but as it is, your post reminded me more precisely of what happened in that - oh, 8 seconds or less (that seemed like a half hour deep and meaningful conversation to me ;))
When I pushed up the shirt and told him to look he goes, 'Oh', in that sort of squeaky tone, heh. Then I say 'You should do this, live. It rocks.' And then he sort of looks closer and goes 'Ohhh!' as if something was dawning on him. And your post remidned me that that's when I think he noticed the lyrics around the edges.
In those IKINW Tusk rehearsal bootlegs, do they sing along to the accordion part? Cause I wrote that in (well, as 'doo doo doo'). So I probably had heard the Tusk rehearsal version at some point.

Here's the shirt again or those who missed it and don't know what I'm blathering about. Click on it for the full-size version. The famous shirt itself is actually currently crumpled up in the laundry heap. lol

Yep - those who want a favourite song? Do a Gerald (scream it), a Joe (shirt it), or a Christy (mail it)! Yes, big thanks to Gerald for pioneering the IKINW cause in the northern hemisphere. Meanwhile, mate... I'm sure I'm not the only one of us on whom the irony is not lost in that they may have added the song after our European and Australian antics, but now North America gets to hear it!

Christy, how good is Red Rover live, even just going by that low-fi bootleg? It's perfect! I hope it doesn't become too taxing on his voice though, cause of those chorus high parts... dammit, I want them to keep all these new setlist additions for everyone's concerts! Meanwhile (and maybe you can answer this one, David, in your infinite FM-related wisdom... is this one of the most changing setlist tours that they've ever done? At least, with the BN lineup?

wondergirl9847 05-10-2004 12:22 AM

Bwah!!!

LMAO!! I didn't mail it, silly!! I wrote him a letter and handed (well, madformac handed LOL) it to him in London. :)

It's AMAZING live, isn't it?!!? OMG, I was so nervous as to what it was going to sound like, and when I heard it, the tears they were a'flowin'. LOL I must say, even hearing his false start, wrongly tuned for RR, guitar was neat because it sounded dark and weird. I was diggin' that, but ah well, it wasn't the right tune.

Yeah, hopefully, his voice and the setlist (!!!!) will hold out!!

Hehe yeah don't worry I know... but 'mail' sounded funnier :P It's a shame you weren't able to reach up to give it to him directly, but who cares because at least you were able to get it to him!

shackin'up 05-10-2004 03:19 AM

All five songs seem to be fantastic. Ha, Christy, my tears were there on everyone of those five! And Did you all hear the start of the ending guitarsolo in IKINW? He starts wth the riff from the EOTW-solo! Maybe that was a "sh*t, I'm stealing from myself-moment" or he did it on purpose. We'll see. I agree it totally rocked. And I'm glad they combined the harmonica-sounds with the SN/LB vocal blend! Goozebumps! But the other songs, too! The pace of DLMDA is AWESOME! How does he do that!!!

Christy, Gerald, Joe, Lux (and possible others), you are "IKINW" Gods. Your humble servant will now go elsewhere jumping with delight. :blob1:

Maybe 'we're the gods - not God - looking down on the experiment'!
:p

CarneVaca 05-10-2004 08:57 AM

Red Rover, I Know I'm Not Wrong and Sara! Oh, yeah, I was definitely wise to sit out last year's tour and go to this leg instead.

Aaah... so I wasn't imagining that.

Yeah, sure, you say that now. That's exactly what I said about "Oh Well"...I've seen them 4 x's since they dropped it.

CarneVaca 05-10-2004 10:09 AM

In truth, I would have preferred dropping Second Hand News instead of Eyes of the World, but, hey, with Red Rover, Sara and I Know I'm Not Wrong, I'm not going to complain.

Ditto, here, too. With their dropping of BOTH "Gypsy" & "Eyes Of The World", they now have left Mirage totally unrepresented in the set.

strandinthewind 05-10-2004 11:13 AM

Relizing the flames I may get for this, I say drop Come. I just do not like it and it takes like 15 minutes. They could do two songs in its place and LB already has BL and ISA to jam on.

AND - Mick just needs to trunkcate the vest deal. It is too long IMO.

come on, 10 minutes max. And let's be fair. We constantly moan about predictability and safe stage-behaviour. Now HIS three of the four really "pushing the-envelope-songs" from the last album are in the set. (Turn in World Turning for Murrow, and then you're talking again. ) So... let's be happy that Lindsey pushes the boundries a little on stage. And with Sara, BC, Silver Springs, Destiny Rules it's quite risky, vocally, for Stevie too. Of course they could do more, but we have to be a little realistic here.

strandinthewind 05-10-2004 01:34 PM

He absolutly should do Murrow - it was fantastic in Chi. But, they can't play everything I guess!!!!

cliffdweller 05-10-2004 01:35 PM

Well, I'm totally THRILLED that I'll finally get to hear Sara live. I can live with Gypsy being dropped too for that. I'm also extremely excited about the addition of IKINW, as well as a little surprised. Talk about your "deep cuts."

I know! Well, I had an entire post talking about how more people should do this, but only two people or something replied. lol (Thank you Christy, for being one of them!) Can you imagine, if we had people at every concert yelling the same song - what this could do?! I mean, if we could agree on one or two songs to yell - that would be huge! If in fact, Lindsey did do IKINW b/c of Joe - and he's only one person, think of what all of us could do! (I think The Dealer or Without You - or something along those lines would be great!) But, that's what I'm going to do. I'm making shirts, signs and yelling names of songs (but not too much, don't want to annoy!) I'll be right in front, so I'll make sure they hear :D

That's a term used for the less-known songs in an album.
