I totally disagree, actually. I don't think the interview was particularly good for a variety of reasons. One was that Lindsey was totally uncomfortable doing it via satellite, having to look into the camera lense in some remote studio rather than talk to Charlie face to face. It also wasn't very good because I didn't think Charlie was conducting a particularly good interview. He asked Lindsey several questions about Stevie, often interrupting Lindsey before Lindsey could finish an answer, but which Lindsey tried to answer fairly quickly and, as I recall, fairly diplomatically. Then Charlie threw out an -- "Aren't you jealous?!" -- question at him. I didn't think he was evil at all, despite the just plain rudeness of the question. He said Stevie worked very hard for her success and that, no, he wasn't particularly jealous because they both defined success differently and worked toward their own separate goals.

Just my memory of it.

Really?! How lame! My respect for Charlie Rose just went down a notch.

I didn't mean that Lindsey WAS evil, he just was sly--I can't describe it. He had this evil grin most of the time I do remember that.

He described he and Stevie as great lovers but as competitors and when Rose asked if he was jealous, I honestly can't remember his answer.

Lindsey had every right to wear the expression he did, but now-a -days he would handle things so much differently.

I have alot of 1984 footage, most of it Lindsey just seems on edge and not terribly happy. The Pee Wee Big Top premiere he is happy but everything else he seems nervous and just tired of hearing the same thing...Stevie...Fleetwood Mac...and in one interview when they asked " any plans for FM" and he was like " none at all!" He was not amused.

He is a different man now and back then its just uneasy for ME to watch him be how he is --but its mostly understandable because he was going through alot.

I haven't seen this interview ( now I can---thanks, plus you can order the video for $30) but Im sure he just carries himself differently.

As for Stevie's "butch" voice, she still is ultra feminine. I mean she probably burps and makes noises like all of us, but as low as her voice maybe and as light hearted as her conversation can be, and as silly as she can get, I can't imagine her being crude, too much girlie in her!

WHY? He had the gall to ask what other lame interviewers wouldn't ask. That's what I like about Charlie: he asks good questions and doesn't give a rats ass how the guest feels about the questions.

The interview from the other night wasn't particularly good, but it was a million times better than a ****ty "Did the success of Rumours catch you off-guard?" Dateline interview. It was a missed opportunity indeed.

As for Stevie being butch and Lindsey being feminine, 4buck has a problem with overanalyzing things. It's absurd and ridiculous and very off-putting to people who like posting. How pathetic. :rolleyes:

To be honest Lindsey kind of creeps me out. He reminds me of a weasel. I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something about him I don't like. He comes across like he thinks hes God's gift to the music world, and that he did all the work in FM. Untrue or not, that's just the impression I got of him.

Plus, his hair is just like Kramer's. Somebody please take him to the barber to trim his nappy wheat-sack, please.

Enough of this. :laugh: Stevie butch? That's pushing it a little. She may have lost the top range of her voice but that hardly makes her un-feminine. If she were butch she'd be wearing army fatigues and have a crew cut and no makeup.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. If you watch or listen to a lot of those interviews from 1984, especially compared to now, he was clearly not in the best place. Not that he was unpleasant or anything, but he was pretty tightly wound and visibly uncomfortable in his own skin at times. Strangely, I find that sort of thing all part of my obsession with that Go Insane album. It's just something sort of compelling about watching an intensely private and, at the time, unsettled person, doing his best to sell a deeply esoteric album to the masses. I don't exactly enjoy watching those interviews as much as I'm just fascinated with watching him try to deal with whatever was bubbling beneath the surface.

The fact that he appears to be in a much, much happier state now shows in everything he does.

If I remember Lindsey's comments on this...he said they were talking about Charlie just prior to her being at the antique shop. My guess is that Kristin recognized Charlie and approached him, not the other way around. She probably fawned all over him and told him who she was. Instead of playing press agent, or publicitst, she should moonlight as her man's wardrobe mistress or hairdresser. If he were my husband I'd never let him out in public the way he goes around. He's just too fine to be mistaken for a fag or a slob. There are other choices. Do we need to call in the FAB FIVE? :laugh:

OOOHHHH, if we called in the Fab Five, we'd get to see the inside of Lindsey's house! I suggest we all email the Fab 5 :laugh:

Also, I agree that Lindsey needs a haircut and some shirts. A haircut takes 10 minutes and he can send his assistant out to pick up a shirt. A good looking man like him shouldn't hide behind Fruit of the Loom.
