Yes, I still have a CD+G player and collected as many discs as possible. The only one I didn't get that I really wanted was the Talking Heads disc. It's really well done.

So you can't view the G with anything other than that type of player? Attempting a DVD player is all I've ever tried. I didn't even know a CD-G player was a thing.... sigh... oh look, wine! :wavey:

The original copy of BTM I bought, which had the CD+G function, played on my computer. But that was 1990- I don’t know if it would work on today’s computers.

Wow, I never knew there was a CD+G player! Mind sharing the names of other CDs you have like that?

The player I have is a JVC XL-G512. The discs I have are:

Little Feat - Hoy-Hoy!
Little Feat - Representing the Mambo
Laura Branigan
Bonnie Raitt - Green Light
Bonnie Raitt - Nine Lives
FM - Behind The Mask
Information Society
Flamin Groovies - Greatest Grooves
Jimi Hendrix - Smash Hits
Chris Isaak -Silvertone
Van Dyke Parks - Tokyo Rose
Gram Parsons - GP/Grievous Angel
Lou Reed - New York
Alphaville - Breathtaking Blue
Tribute to Wood Guthrie
GRP Digital Sampler
Holtst - The Planets
Ella Fitzgerald - Ella

Someone on this site traded some with me years ago.

Donna Summer
Emmylou Harris
Anita Baker
Classical (can't read the label)

Also, I know there is a Talking Heads disc that is really cool. Some they produced as hidden so you have to read the label to know if it has graphics.

Someone posted some on You Tube

Amen. I love all the album overall, but those two Stevie songs toward the end (I love "Seven Wonders") are terrible. She had good ones in her hip pocket. Had the band used those instead, the album would have been solid start to finish.

Such a shame.

This thread had me watch the Everywhere video last week. Last night in bed while watching youtube, my smart TV recommended Isn't It Midnight from the same video. I have not seen in years so I played it. OMG. Its completely a video of live footage edited in. At no point while performing on stage will you see an audience. They show audience shots but its of the band walking and waving on stage. Even crazier is some of the same clips appear from the Everywhere video i.e. Stevie with her red hat talking to the back up singers and Rick and Billy coming down the stairs and waving. I was 17 when this came out and sadly I was fooled. At least Red Rocks showed the actual concert performance from a far with the real audience. The close ups were just shot and added later. Tango is ZERO live performance with splices of backstage, stage shots of the band not performing. The band is lip syncing and performing on stage while everything around them is edited in. Watch the link below. The audience is edited in. Also see the same clips from the Everywhere video. Were we all this dumb in 1987?

What do you mean the video has zero live performance and they’re lip syncing? I thought the only fake footage were the closeups of Stevie- she’s lip syncing there, of course, but otherwise it was recorded live.

I vote for Another Woman and Isn't it Midnight.

I like how Stand Back ends, just that detail. It's more cool than other live versions end.

The entire concert is lip synced. All the close ups are like Red Rocks except its even worse because they are pretending to sing with the live track. Look how made up everyone is with perfect make up and even the way Christine is "singing." They are not playing in front of an audience. All the audience shots are edited in. For example you will never see them singing and the camera pans to the audience. Then all the concert footage is edited in like a video within a video. Even when the music is playing and there is "singing" there is a far away shot with Stevie with a red hat. She is not wearing a red hat during Isn't It Midnight. Lots of bands did this in the 80s. Its one slick music video that has live music in sound only. Now that you know, watch the link and it will all stand out like a sore thumb. The entire concert is live music but a video of glamour shots on stage with concert footage (not of them singing or performing) edited in.

No, I knew it was fake ersatz sh|t the second I saw it, and I hated it. I was dying for a Stop Making Sense kind of quality from Fleetwood Mac in those days ... well, I was hoping in vain. The concerts they released were completely shoddy. More clodhopper than rockhopper, if ya get my drift.

I remember being embarrassed by the repeated (staged) footage throughout several songs, and the desperation I sensed coming from the band upon Lindsey’s departure. Or maybe that was really anxiousness and it was coming from me. It’s hard to see your favorite band crumble before your very eyes.

That said, that band’s soundboard or live-in-studio performance of Isn’t it Midnight rises above the sad spectacle.

I will rewatch it again soon. But just going by memory, I’m certain there were scenes during Stand Back, for example, where the camera is behind Stevie and you can see the audience, plus that whole choppily edited sequence where she ‘jams’ with Billy. And you think the intermission with Mick doing his body drum is fake, too? Maybe when I rewatch it I’ll see what you’re seeing, too.

Stand Back also does not contain any live singing. The footage you speak of shows Stevie on stage (live) with different hair than her close ups. So there is an audience in a few quick clips but its not synced with the audio track. It's edited in with everything else. The live shots edited in are from stage performances of Stand Back with her Stand Back costume. Those few live shots on Stand Back on stage are edited in too. Watch and you will see.
