Hearing 'Hold Me' being played regularly in my local(twenty something) bar. I asked the bar man who it was and went out and bought Mirage the next day on cassette. Listening to that album that Friday night is some thing that I will never forget....my introduction to that SOUND and especially that BEAT and RHYTHM! Wow! Goosebumps ! Changed my musical life forever.:thumbsup:

I was 8 years old. I remember playing cards with my mom and aunt. My aunt had the radio on. I heard Over My Head. I was hooked immediately.

Love Bad Loser!!!! That tune should be re-recorded with scorching LB-Isn't it Midnight guitar.

The song that drew me in was "Gypsy." I listened to it 4 billion times that year it came out.

I first came to the group in 1977, when my older sister bought Rumours, when "Don't Stop" and "The Chain" were on heavy rotation in my house.

"Gypsy" drew me back in. "Say You Love Me" kept me. I listened to that song 5 billion times and have never stopped.

Dreams, Stevie's voice sparked my interest after first hearing her sing on the radio in 77, then bought the album been hooked on Gold Dust Woman ever since :)

The Peter Green big hit "Albatross" drew me to listen to Fleetwood Mac in 1968, I followed them then thro' to 1969 with "man of the World" ....

Re-connected with them with "Rumours" in 1977... we had just moved house and had little money, being a young couple with 2 small children, but on hearing "Rumours" scrapped the money to buy probably my favourite LP ever...

I watched the BBC coverage of Formula1 and liked the opening theme, looked the song up, and it went on from there.

When I was a kid, my older cousin moved in with us(couldn't get along with her stepfather), and brought along all of her 8-track tapes. Rumours was among them. And

I fell in love.

Completely obsessed with the album(NO drama, I didn't really give a sh*t about their relationships - I was too young to care).

I taught myself guitar, piano, and drums, from my obsession with Rumours. I've played in bands, and done sound and lighting my whole adult life, pretty successfully.

And it ALL started with Rumours. Damn, I loved, lived and breathed that damned album.

Edit - And I'm sitting here right now, after "doing monitors" for a concert tonight, watching the "Tusk doc outtakes". Some things never change....

It wasn't a FM song, it was Lindsey singing Holiday Road on National Lampoon's Vacation (watched it on TV during a rough time in my life because I needed to laugh). Did some online research on Lindsey and found FM, which I knew some of their songs from the radio (was familiar with GYOW, Dreams, The Chain, Rhiannon and Don't Stop mostly).

I bought Lindsey's Out of the Cradle and Go Insane CDs along with FM's Greatest Hits. The obsession grew and grew. :nod:
