I'm going to the concert on Saturday! I can't believe how quickly time has passed since I bought the tickets. I'm going to try really hard not to watch the YouTube videos of the Thursday night concert. I will definitely be checking the set list for Thursday though deep down as much as I want it to change, I know it will be the exact same set list they have played every other show of the tour. I think Seven Wonders will still be out and Songbird will be in. (To hear one of the new songs Lindsey and Christine have been talking about for two years would be amazing, but it's not going to happen.)

Palmira 10-16-2015 01:43 AM

Just wondering if anyone thinks the setlist will change from the Europe set?
The promotion for the Oz/NZ tour says this;

Quote:

The On With The Show Tour will see Fleetwood Mac on stage for close to two and a half hours, showcasing hits and classic songs from their career that spans more than four decades and global album sales in excess of 100 million, including songs such as: “The Chain”, “Dreams”, “Second Hand News”, “Rhiannon”, “Sara”, “Gold Dust Woman”, “Tusk”, “Looking Out for Love”, “Don’t Stop”, “Go Your Own Way”…and the list goes on and on..
I'm just very much hoping they play 'Sara' (which they haven't seem to be playing elsewhere). I think I'll be so sad if they don't because I've visualised it in my head.

Otherwise, super excited to be taking my kid to the Rod Laver arena (very lucky boy) and then seeing them again in Geelong (very lucky me). I can't believe I'm going, have to pinch myself.

Also, if they were to loiter about Melbourne, where do you think they would go? Personally, I reckon they'd stay in and rest, they've probably done all the touristy things.

Cheers!

I think the promotion you've quoted is the same one that was used for the 2013 tour, except they've changed it from 'Fleetwood Mac Live 2013' to 'On with the Show'.

They played Sara in the 2013 tour, but maybe they dropped it for this one to fit in more Christine McVie songs. Yeah, but haven't changed promo write up.

The 'On with the Show' setlist doesn't seem to be deviating much throughout the tour.
I'll be heckling them in Melbourne to play it though. I love so many songs of theirs so it won't matter too much but 'Sara' is my special song, you know how it is when a song evokes an emotion, a memory.

I loooove Sara. I saw them in 2013 so I'm really glad I got to see Sara live, but the thing I love the most about Sara is the piano. Before this tour started I was really hoping they would play Sara with Christine back. I would rather have Sara than Silver Springs any day.

Oh you are so lucky to have seen them play it live. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed. The piano is certainly lovely, especially the intro.
There’s so much to love about Sara, it’s such a beautiful song, otherworldly. I feel like I’m floating when I listen to it, it lifts me up and I drift away.

I'm assuming you have listened to live versions from 1979-1982, if not, please go to YouTube and listen. My favorite is the 1979 Largo video. It also would have been really cool if they played Sara on The Dance, I'm sure it would have sounded really good.

Mick told us at a meet and greet what everyone likes to do when on the road:

Lindsey goes for long walks in nice neighbourhoods on his own in every city using his iPhone to navigate. I spoke to him in Denver Colorado last year twice and spotted him in the distance a third! He even told me where they were staying.

Christine likes to go to nice restaurants. Micks keeps fit in the hotel gyms. Stevie tends to stay in her hotel suites and doesn't talk much, sometimes not at all, in between shows to preserve her voice. I can't remember what he said about John.

It would be nice if the Mac make a surprise pop in on the ARIA awards like Stevie did years ago.Since they will be next door in NZ.

It would be a nice treat for us at the end of the tour.

Anyone else doing the meet & greet? Have you received an email stating any details, times etc? Mine is for Sunday 25th but I am awfully curious about what to expect.
I got my email for the "Go Your Own Way" package I purchased for Thursday already.

I'm getting so excited, I've never been this close to the stage for Fleetwood Mac before, only Stevie. I just can't wait to hear those first few drumbeats of The Chain. I would love it if the setlist was changed up but seriously doubt it will be. Even Seven Wonders back in would be a treat.

I hope everyone attending concerts on this leg has an absolute blast!! I'm sure we all will.:]:]:D:blob2:

Wow. This'll teach me not to get tickets so early, lol. For one of the Brisbane gigs, I couldn't even get something on the floor.
