Stevie Nicks is a star, and stars are, generally, by definition, narcissists. I happen to love the way she carries herself and am impressed with how she has served her own posterity and reputation in the last five years. She achieves this through repeated tv appearances, frequent touring, and by granting print and online interviews--and she often presents herself with humorous aplomb.
But like other great popular icons and legends whose best days are be behind them, Stevie's efforts seem more focused on the preservation of cultural relevance for past work as opposed to striving to create something new. In Your Dreams was a magnificent exception--and I am so happy she was able to make that album be so artistically successful. I am, however, saddened to see that she appears to be stalling progress towards a new FM studio album. |

And I guess I'm going to go on the record one more time. If the band gets itself off the road, they can finish the freakin' album anytime they want, and Stevie can be on it or not. I don't see how anyone is a hostage, unless it's of their own making. |

Besides, in 40 years, it's taken a whole lot more than pointing out her flaws to get her to do a single thing. Michele |
