Oh wow. Odd...I do not see him playing in the Mirage '82 Concert video at all during Songbird. But even his return with The Dance, again I do not see him playing. Anyway...I guess I'm blind.

Haha, only half-blind. ;) He's there in the Mirage concert video, but Christine continued to play it alone on The Dance tour, as she had for the Shakin' The Cage and Behind The Mask tours.

I wonder what the backstory of Stevie giving Chris a whistle is anyway. When she presented it, she probably said something like, "so you can be the referee." I wouldn't be surprised.

I think you're spot on!! I bet that's exactly what happened. But it kinda back fired on Stevie.;) I do have to wonder if the whistle thing was rehearsed or not...or maybe Chris shared what she was going to do with some of the band but not Stevie? I wonder. I think they were all in on it, even Stevie.

Found it! You cant see Chris blowing the whistle but you can hear it very well. Ha ha, I am laughing so hard!! You know Christine is thinking 'Damn woman wrap it up' -ha ha!!
The best part is that Stevie just keeps on going with her story - lol!!

Hilarious!! The 4 Gypsy intros that I experienced live were fairly concise and focused..as focused as a Stevie intro can be, that is. This one ,however, started in a very different place than the others so it took her much longer to circle back to the central idea...hence the whistle!! Maybe her speeches should be on the teleprompter along with the song lyrics. Just a thought...
