Hi! I have been lurking here for quite awhile and thought it was finally time to post. I was at the Detroit show on Wed. and had the time of my life! I've been a fan for 20 years and this was my third show, having seen the Dance in '97 and SYW Tour in '03. (I also had the pleasure of seeing Lindsey solo back in '93, opening for Tina Turner. I think he was supporting Out of the Cradle, which I love!) While my first FM show will always probably be my favorite, this show ran a very close second. My husband bought floor seats for us as a 40th bday present to me and, through the kindness of strangers, somehow ended up just a few feet away from Lindsey! I was completely entranced by him...And I totally agree with the above post re. the energy of the audience and their interaction with the band.

Also, from where I was standing, I noticed the exact same thing where Lindsey was sitting off to the side during the drum solo on World Turning. I thought it was so cool to just watch him REACT to someone else's playing that I tried to snap a picture. It didn't turn out well, but here it is for what it's worth...

By the way, I am loving the Ledge! Even though I had never posted before, I have discovered many different videos, rare demos, etc. through you guys. And thanks to the Ledge, I was even able to tune in to the FM marathon for a little bit yesterday while I was still on a high from the show! Thank you!!

This tour, Lindsey is the first one off the stage in the end, but in the past he used to sometimes stay behind, even if it was far back at the side of the stage, and listen to Mick say to the crowd, "The Mac is Back." And he'd clap along with the audience when Mick did that.

I always used to think that was really nice.

Woot! I found the Detroit thread!!! You have no clue how much I'm beating myself up for not going to previous Mac or Nicks shows in the area or how I still get all excited and can close my eyes and picture the Detroit show all over again!

I'm thrilled someone posted videos. I ran out and bought a new camera for the show (I'd dropped and broken my previous one and just knew even if I had to return it after the show, a camera was a must!) My new camera took full HD video but unfortunately I only had a very old 4GB memory card (dumb move!!!!) and it filled halfway through Silver Springs which you guessed it, is my very favorite! And only at the very end did I get the most incredible close ups mostly of Stevie because she was finally still long enough (got great LB shots but couldn't go as close because he never stops rocking!) but my memory card was full so I was frantically deleting! That and my video quality is GREAT but um I kind of sang along the entire time and well wow I got to hear just how bad I sounded! Lol. I'm a soprano and Chris would've been the only one I had hopes of singing without sounding flaaat. But of course I had a blast and your have had to duct tape my mouth closed for me not to sing. I couldn't help it!!!

I was in the cheapest handicap seats in 118 which actually honestly were way better than most the seats in the house and way better than costlier handicap seats (we were running late after a parking nightmare and how not so accessible the structures were and not knowing the venue went in at the wrong spot which is where we'd have sat if we paid more!) We did have a side view and as a huge Stevie fan we were technically the wrong side (and almost never saw most of John) but it was such a cool view. Allowed for great photos and I could see Stevie getting on and off the stage and kept joking I was going to hop over and run down the stairs and meet her behind the stage. If I had the mobility I could've and you know probably gotten in trouble. Lol. Not that I really was going to. Lol. But I was completely gaga for Stevie so thoughts crossed my mind. Lol. That and we were right above their VIP area were their friends and special people sat off to the side and we kept speculating on them and how lucky they were!

I don't know how security goes at the Joe but there was no security where we were either and I'm notorious for bucking rules and at times getting yelled at for video or photos that aren't allowed. Lol. So I wish I'd have had a huge memory card and a second camera so I could've taped the whole thing. (Could've brought anything I wanted. I have a lot of medical equipment and wasn't searched well. Lol. If only I'd stashed a tripod... Yeah my mind goes of on dramatic flights of fancy, as you can see...) But I also made recordings of most songs on my iPhone. I've done that before with concerts and because the phone sat on the arm of my wheelchair and further from my face you don't really hear my singing (but I screamed a lot and my screaming kept egging on the big fan next to me. It was hilarious. Every single time I let out a scream she would then follow. Lol) but yeah I don't have quite the whole show but if anyone is interested in hearing any of what I have I'd be happy to share it. Captured most of the talking before and after songs also. I can edit it out or leave it.

Also I'm going to try to remember to upload my pictures on Flickr or something to share here. I'd attach a few but I'm on my phone right now and rarely ever use my computer. I made prints of maybe half of my best pictures and am thrilled by how well they turned out. My camera is really good with a 30x zoom. People thought I was in like the front row for some of them.

I want to say a lot more though between the great review already given and the video I'm not sure I have anything new to add really. As far as Mick's kids he mentioned they were off to camp for awhile and that as mentioned Detroit was their last show for awhile. Beautiful little girls though I don't think I got a good picture. When Stevie's earpiece screwed up she said something, to my memory of, "Hey its like the 70's all over again! That's cool. We can do this!" And everyone cheered. Even got a pic of the guy who ran up behind her and fixed it. Lol.

Have to say I've always been a diehard Stevie fan but Lindsey wowed me. In fact beyond the Mac I tend to listen to more of the 90s female Sarah M Lachlan, Tori Amos, Lilith Fair kind of stuff and have been mostly to those concerts so wow, this was my first rock show! And it sure rocked! I took my best friend who wasn't a huge fan but likes them and knew its be a cool show to go to. His first rock show and his first big name show too. He also loved it and later joked that wow, he and I are in our mid-20's and the two of us together don't have the Mac members (especially Lindsey) energy!!

And I cried honestly. I couldn't believe I was finally living my dream. This concert was top on my bucket list and my health isn't too good so not to be morbid or anything but I don't know how much time I've got left, a lot less than many and so I was really really glad I finally got to see Fleetwood Mac!!! My new dream is to meet them and I just wish I could hop in a can and follow the rest of the tour!!!

And my obsession is at an all time high. I'm now collecting Mac and Mac members solo albums on vinyl. Lots of good record stores in the Metro Detroit area but if anyone in the area happens to have any record store recommendations let me know. And oh my gooosh I still can't believe I went!!! My parents are visiting today and I'm going to show them all my pictures. They're not exactly big fans but since they were forced to listen to so much Mac while I grew up they know the catalog! Meanwhile one of my nurses is a Big Mac fan so I got to babble to her about it and she argued with my love of Silver Springs and said Good Dust Woman was her fave and I had to admit that was a definite highlight of the show! I so used to own a shawl a lot like Stevie's too. Haha. And I'm also running on a huge Stevie crush now but who isn't? ;) And while I don't lean that way, heck I found Lindsey to be really nice on the eyes too! The Mac is timeless and I hope they'll all be rocking for a long time to come!

Detroit was an absolute dream come true! I'm only bummed that I couldn't stop time so it never had to end!!!
