Did anyone see? I had it on in background, but never saw it - although they repeated other stories 50 times, so clearly they had time????? Now there's been a chemical explosion which will (appropriately) prob preempt any scheduled stuff-

I've had CNN on since 9:30am CST. It now 11:08am CST, still no Mac interview or mention of it or them.

Supreme court rulings on gene patents and the chemical explosion plant are front and center today. :cool:

I don't think they've aired it. I've had it on all morning and no Mick and Lindsey :shrug:

What was the outcome of this .Did they air it or it got ditched for other stories.

I got derailed from looking this up on YouTube and the CNN site do to the FM marathon on WBWC.

Nothing was aired :distress:

I figure that was going to happen.

This interview aired this morning. (Maybe it aired other times also, I don't know). I caught it totally by accident around 8 or 830 pacific time. It lasted maybe...5-6 mins? Perhaps it was 10 mins but honestly it didn't feel nearly that long.

It was a pretty lame interview. LB and Mick sitting in front of what looked like their stage set up. The interviewer (some chick anchor person) was blathering about nothing really and then they would cut to very short, maybe one-sentence responses from Mick or Lindsey. Very edited.

The gist was:

Mick said something about yes we have a fan base but you never really know when you go out on the road if they will be willing to come out (ie, pay) to see you.

Lindsey said with the EP at least they aren't going out exclusively resting on their laurels. He did say there was a a level of excitement and creativity in the new music; they are hoping to get "Stevie to bring some new music to the table" and do more.

She asked if there was still love between LB and SN, to which LB replied "Sure" and then it was edited to jump to him saying that he's "moved on in my personal life" and he has "three wonderful kids and a beautiful wife".

And that was kinda it. A few interspersed clips of them live but mostly stuff from the Clinton inauguration and audio of Don't Stop throughout off and on. They did come back to the studio and go to commercial with some live audio of Dreams that was not from The Dance.

Short, heavily edited to sound-bytes and nothing really of substance. :shrug:

ETA: LB did say that the challenge for him and Stevie was that they never got the chance to NOT be around each other and get that sort of closure from their relationship that "normal couples" get.

And a standard LB comment on Rumours about how unique it was to have 2 couples in a band and then both breaking up and that the soap opera took on a dimension beyond the music.

Of course, it would air completely without warning, when we were expecting it a week ago.

Lindsey and Stevie's relationship in general just makes me chuckle and scratch my head. :laugh: Their relationship is certainly very complicated. I mean, it's been how many years now since they broke up? Thirty-six? And Stevie wasn't Lindsey's longest-term girlfriend either. You'd think that by now they'd be at a good enough place where they could just give straight-forward answers like "Yes, we are good friends now" instead of "Ehh, maybe?" But I guess Lindsey has a point; they really didn't have that distance immediately after their breakup. Still though, they have the most fascinating, bizarre relationship ever. :laugh:

Well, I think it's a silly question in a way. I chuckled about it too though, the way bombaysaffires described it and how he was cut off, after one word. That struck me as funny.

But the question itself . . . It's like asking someone if they love their sister. Sure you're going to love them. He loves John. I'm not saying he loves Stevie in the same way, but after that much time has passed, of course, you're going to love them to a certain extent. All that shared history. That person is a part of you, if not in the lovey dovey sense, then in the memory sense. When someone is gone who experienced and understood what you did, you lose a chunk of yourself and your validation. I mean, if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to remember it falling with you, did it really fall?

You know a 31 year old Buzzfeed writer, Michael Hastings, crashed his car into a tree and died this week and one of the greatest remarks about him came from a rival journalist who said something like he had a hard time describing to his wife why the death hit him so hard, because he didn't much like Michael and Michael didn't like him. But the reason he didn't like him was because he was in your face, intense and competitive and believed in his craft. I understood what he was saying. You miss a person like that when they're gone, even if they really annoyed you when they were there.

I don't know why you'd even think to ask a guy who has known a woman since 1965 and worked side by side with her for many of the years since then if he loves her.

About the only thing I got out of this is that I definitely like Stevie's bangs better than the no-bangs look showed in several of the clips, and the fact that there was a mention of a Broadway show. I doubt that will ever get off the ground, though.

:laugh: yeah i just saw that. too funny! although it would actually make sense considering that's what they are acting out every day on the stage anyway. :D

I'd forgotten the anchor mentioned the Broadway show thing... funny that she had no actual FOOTAGE of them saying that, which would have been far more useful than redundant comments like "geez there was a lot of drama in the band" and whether there's love between them. oy.

Makes me wonder if they really said anything substantive about a b'way show or if maybe she just asked them something like "hey would you guys ever do a B'way show like ABBA did?" and they said "well you never know" or "stranger things have happened" or "well we've talked about that......" But like others, I *seriously* doubt that'll ever come to fruition. Geez, they can barely work out a 4 song EP in this lifetime let alone getting all the managers and other players to agree to a whole freaking script and etc... the wrestling over who's version of reality gets told would be a nightmare!

Nice little interview, though I was hoping for a live interview.

The Mac need a whole hour on a talk show, the today show, GMA or something...:cool:
