I like all of the songs but You Can't Fix This is my favourite. It just works from every angle and although not Stevie's strongest lyrics, it works for the message of the song and the arrangement and playing is just excellent. Lindsey has once again churned out some high quality writing and the man is a genius with a hook, all of these songs are keepers. Nice to hear Without You but that would've been the ideal transition into finally getting the masterpiece that is Buckingham Nicks into the modern mainstream with some outtakes and (hopefully) cleaned up versions of those awesome live tracks that surfaced a couple of years ago. Finally, some new music, and promising at that. I'm pleased.

I voted. But 100% in the spirit of TrueFaith77.

the EP and I are still getting to know each other and I haven't heard any of the This is 40 songs so I really can't comment. I'm liking the EP so far but I think the line between Lindsey Buckingham solo and Fleetwood Mac is almost nonexistent at this point. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as I am a big fan of Lindsey's solo work. I've said this before but Fleetwood Mac will never be Fleetwood Mac for me without Christine, both on stage and on record.

Too bad they won't do that again!! Seriously, the whole band needs to go into the studio and make songs Together. Enough of feeling like Stevie is 'phoning it in', enough of LB/MF/JM laying down tracks w/o Stevie. If they are going to record as Fleetwood Mac, they should do it the right way!!! |
