Going solely on songs WITH Fleetwood Mac

Peter Green: NONE

Jeremy Spencer: the repetetiveness of those Elmore James things got a little tedious on Mr Wonderful, but overall, there's nothing I didn't like, taken individually.

Danny Kirwan: When You Say, When You Say, When You Say, did I mention "When You Say"?

Bob Welch: NONE

Christine McVie: NONE (well, maybe "Ricky", but that was an unfinished B-side throwaway)

Lindsey Buckingham:
Not That Funny (studio version)
Oh Diane
You & I, Part II
Come (studio version)

Stevie Nicks:
Welcome To The Room...Sara
No Questions Asked
The Second Time
Running Through The Garden
Silver Girl

Rick Vito: Stand On The Rock (there were better songs left in the can than that one that should've made the album...but, I still like that song)

Billy Burnette: NONE

Dave Mason: NONE

Bekka Bramlett: NONE

considering this was a co-write, does the same song irritate you when you think of it as Lindsey's but doesn't when you think of it as Christine's?

I don't believe I know "Ricky" but now I'm curious.

"Come" has me in its corner right up until it explodes all high octane like. That said I don't hate it (nor "Tango in the Night").

Wow, I'm seeing some of the best Fleetwood Mac songs listed on some of these "worst lists"..........."Oh Daddy" (one of the most haunting FM songs ever recorded), "I'm So Afraid", "Angel", "Over My Head".........

My worst songs from any FM songwriter usually appear on their solo efforts.

"Jane" and "Desert Angel" and "Soldier's Angel" rank amoung Stevie Nicks' most questionable recordings. They are so cheesy that I ALMOST love them. After the first spin of these delightful "gems", I was saying to myself, "Huh?" But, quite simply I adore Buckingham/Nicks/McVie and I would buy a recording of them snoring.....so, my opinion is not exacty objective.

I love those songs too, but it's always fun to see how differently people feel. I know there are people who love Stevie's Say You Will stuff more than I do, whereas I like a lot of her post-Tango pre-Dance stuff ("No Questions Asked", "Paper Doll", "Freedom" ... "The Second Time" is not bad, to me, but then I can find a soft spot for WISYA). I've also learned that I like retro-Lindsey (Mirage, Teen Beat, etc) way more than many

I like the album version of "Smile At You", just not as much as the demo.
And I'm a big fan of "Sugar Daddy" and "Make Me a Mask" too, I like that song more than most of Lindsey's that did make it on to Tango. And "That's Alright". And Lindsey's Tusk songs. And "Morning Rain".

But wait, what was I saying? Vive la difference ;)

MacShadowsBall 03-26-2013 09:59 PM

Christine
Warm Ways
Never Make Me Cry
Brown Eyes
Never Forget
Honey Hi

Lindsey
everything from Tusk, Mirage, Tango except SMAP/Oh Diane/TITN :sorry:

Stevie
Rhiannon
Silver Springs (B-side version)
I Don't Wanna Know
That's Alright
When I See You Again

redtulip 03-26-2013 10:12 PM

I should add that you don't have to dislike/hate the songs you list, as long as their your bottom 5(ish).

Stevie

I like most of Stevie's FM songs. There are more of her solo songs I really dislike.

Seven Wonders
Landslide....Don't stone me. I do like this song. However, I am sooooo tired of hearing it and always skip over it.

Lindsey

That's Enough For Me
Oh Diane
Book of Love
Red Rover

Christine

Love in Store
Sugar Daddy
Skies the Limit
Wish You Were Here

Gene 03-27-2013 10:49 AM

Stevie:
Beautiful Child
Straight Back
Welcome to the Room Sara
When I See You Again
Illume

Christine:
Sugar Daddy
Songbird
Oh Daddy
Honey Hi
Save Me

Lindsey:
Big Love (Enjoy the band version, sick of the solo version)
Red Rover

How could I forget this song - it's far worse than Save Me.

Red Rover is just...weird. The last thing I ever want to hear when friends are over, and I'm playing music, is "What the heck are you listening to?". This kind of song prompts that question, and it's never asked in a good way.

Christopher 03-27-2013 11:53 AM

Lindsey
What's The World Coming To
Family Man
Caroline
My Little Demon
Tie: Oh Diane/Empire State

Christine
Save Me - pure unadulterated medicore Christine by-the-numbers crap.
Temporary One - see above. Plus, this song makes my skin crawl. dreadful:distress:
Everywhere
Mystified
Never Make Me Cry

Stevie
No Questions Asked - When I Seeeeee you, I feeeeel you (Ugh, nails on a charkboard)
Affairs Of The Heart (mostly because of the thin production & arrangement)
Not Make Believe (The demo had more of a groove and lots of potential. The chorus is very catchy - again wish this were produced & arranged differently because ultimatley I like this song. The cold start with Stevie's gravelly voice was a bad move, as it was on Running Through The Garden & Destiny Rules imo.
Silver Girl - nice simple melody and chorus, ruined by some dreadful lyrics in the verses.
