It is a disaster. I could pare the thing down to a decent EP, and that's about it. Too long, too many sh*tty songs, weak production, blah, blah, blah......

That's for sure. Mick and John are the foundation - the bedrock. Aside from that, all is Fleetwood Mac. Configuations change and morph. Players come and go and
(in Lindsey's case ) come back again. That's one of the most ususual and interesting facets of the Fleetwood Mac brand -- the different phases and musical styles.

Not that what is best matters to me but have you listened to So The Story Goes from Martha Davis, Van Lear Rose by Loretta Lynn, Live Close By, Visit Often from K.T. Oslin or Black Cadillac from Rosanne Cash? I would consider those(along with Stevie's Trouble In Shangri-La) to be some of the greatest albums from the past decade.

I love KT Oslin, she has such a great voice. I remember her back in those 80's heydays with the Nashville Network & seeing her with Ralph Emery , great memories. I'd take late 60-80's country over the stuff they play now. I also like Rosanne Cash too. She's always been one of my favorites. Have you ever heard of folk singer Nanci Griffith? I really like her stuff too(& other artists too etc). So I do like country just not todays country stuff. Anyway, regarding what this topic/thread is about I do agree that I also miss Mac without Christine too. I did see the BTM tour (than I missed Lindsey), SYW was an OK tour only saw one show. I missed Christine than too. I did get to see the Dance tour which was great. But I haven't seen them live since SYW prices being what they are now. Same with Stevie solo, tried of all those Greatest Hits shows & the prices just aren't worth it. I'll live. If I hadn't ever seen them than it would be a bigger deal but not so much now. If they do release a 'new' cd I'll buy it for sure just don't think I'd see them on tour though. Well, those are some thoughts.:D

Yes, she does and K.T. is also a really good songwriter. Most of her music was not full-fledged country/western music but she understands what country music is about. I admire her not only for her talent and incredible sense of humour but for the tenacity she possessed to continue to pursue a career in music despite many people believing that she was too old to do so. She proved every single one of them wrong.

She is one of mine as well. I think she is very misunderstood as an artist.

Yes but I've only heard Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness, which is great. I also love Dolly Parton's version of Once In A Very Blue Moon.

I think that the Dixie Chicks controversy was the beginning of the end for contemporary country music. Fortunately, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Tanya Tucker, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris are still touring and making new music to some degree so there is hope. I just wish that the recording artists(country and otherwise) would get away from all of the new technology and return to the real music that they used to make. It may not be easier but the complex albums are the ones people often remember(i.e. Rumours).
