It looks like it could have been the inspiration for what was said to have been planned for the cover of Lindsey's first GOS incarnation.

This is the best photo I've ever seen of this. Now for the very first time I can see what itt actually is! It's a Calif. freeway destroyed by an eartquake. All this time I thought it was a grand piano sawed off. The curve underneath it reinforced that theory in my head. Now though I can see the steel girder that holds up this freeway. I was so sure it was a piano that I even argued my point with the great David.

It's the famous freeway overpass collapse in the 1971 San Fernando (Sylmar) earthquake. It's a Los Angeles iconic visual.
