I still can't believe I missed this tour. I was mad at my parents for months.

I was wondering about you. I know you have the TISL story but never heard of anything in between now and then.

Well I have an Unleashed story, too. But in 2003, my parents decided last minute that they didn't want me to go to see Fleetwood Mac when they came to town... even though we had already purchased 5th row seats. They didn't even give me a reason. whoohoo.

Hun, I know it sounds weird but I can truly empathize with you. When I was 9 years old in May of 1980, Fleetwood Mac came to Minneapolis on May 9&10. I begged my mom for weeks to let me go but she wouldnt. Se's no prude, but she also knew what went on at Rock Concerts and she wasnt about to let a 9 year old go to a concert by himself. She dens't like Fleetwood Mac which is why she didnt go.:distress: The day of the shows I stayed in my room both days and didnt come out to eat or anything I just spent 2 days listening to my Mac records.:laugh:

That sucks. I wonder why they did that. And what became of your tix? My parents could be strict when I was younger, but I was always able to sway my dad. ;) Still, your story is, surprisingly, not uncommon. It's that power in being a parent that kicks in at times I guess.

Still kicking myself for not seeing the band on The Dance tour... and I could have. :distress:

My parents have just been trying to squish the Fleetwood Mac outta me since I was around 11, I think. By the time the Say You Will tour came around, I was prepared for them to do something like that.

And we sold the tickets last minute.... it was the day before the show that they told me. I'm still bitter about it, ha.

Well, I hate to say something bad towards someone's parents, but that just sounds like plain selfishness to me!! I may not love everything my son loves, but I would never do something like that. Maybe it's because I know what it's like to be a fan!

My parents are bundles of fun, trust me. And I don't just say that because I'm a 17-year-old and we all hate our parents! :)

But why??? I would think a lot of parents would be thrilled that their kids were listening to FM instead of a lot of other music thats out there.

My mom actually loved Fleetwood Mac/Stevie. I have a guess as to why they're weird about it.... but really, it just comes down to the fact that my parents are crazy. :shrug:

I missed the 2003 leg of the tour...I can't remember why but I did catch the 2004 show in West Palm Beach. I had great seats and it was a great show. GYOW particularly rocked..it just sounded amazing. But the absolute highlight was after the show. We were walking through the parking lot to leave and suddenly everybody was stopped. I thought there was an accident or something. Then this caravan of 4 or 5 black limos drove right through the crowd. I didn't realize it was the band since all the first 4 cars had their darkened windows rolled up. But then the last car drove by and that car had the back window rolled down. And guess who was in that car? Stevie fricking Nicks. Oh yeah. All smiles, waving. I was about a foot away from her car and it was just the most wonderful experience, I suppose because it had been such a great show and seeing this glimpse of her was totally unexpected. After she drove by I just remember hugging my friend Jeff because I was so overcome. I know, very dramatic but it was one of those "never forget" moments. :)

You would have thought that you and your parents could have gone and had a great time!!

I saw four shows on the SYW tour, and my best memory comes from the last of the four. I was right up against the stage in front of Lindsey, and I held up a sign that said "Real savage-like" during Tusk. I could see him eying it throughout the song, and when he had a moment he bent down to see it better. When he saw what it said, he excitedly shouted "Yeah!" off the mic, and then screamed that (on mic) during the song, which he hadn't done in AGES (or since?! :shrug:).

I still get chills thinking about seeing the Stevie/Lindsey powerhouse that was Say Goodbye live. And also seeing Sara for the first time live was very emotional. I was underwhelmed by it on this tour because it was so phenomonal on that one.
