Sisters of the Moon would be an interesting choice because it used to hold such prominence in the set. But it's been MIA ever since. Nicks never even pulled it out in all her dozens of years of touring.

If I wanted a rough idea of what it would sound like today, I'd listen to the studio recording. It's more likely to resemble that style than the performances we're all remembering fondly. There'll be no trachea-injuring yelling or gutteral, impassioned pleas on it this time round. All the old material from those days has been noticeably altered in style for the Guitar & Workstation Army as well as the granny-singing.

Then they had best not play I'm So Afraid, either. Nothing off SYW except maybe, at a push, Peacekeeper and the title track (which are still frequently played on BBC Radio 2. More than than any of their other songs recently.). Probably best to leave everything off Mirage except Gypsy since Chris isn't here. The gods forbid that they play anything off Tusk except the title track. Crystal is out of the running for a revival because it was never a hit either.

Now, if it's "Fleetwood Mac" hits tour and not a LBSN hits tour then really they should play Albatross if they do the UK, since that was their first big hit single. I think it was even one of their very biggest in the UK so it makes sense to play it, since they're doing the "hits". They should certainly drop something like Dreams if they do the UK for Albatross. Who wouldn't drop a song that got to 24 for a song that got to number 1?

I hate the idea of this being a "hits" tour, as may have been gathered.

Peacekeeper was a minor hit. It reached #80, I believe, on the Billboard Hot 100, which was pretty darn good for a classic rock band in 2003.
Also, Say You Will made some minor waves on the adult contemporary chart. I guess it all depends on what you consider a "hit."

I have a hunch that Sisters Of The Moon is at least being seriously talked about being included for this tour. With this being a Hits Tour and Sisters being such a concert pinnacle during the height of their popularity, I can't see why they wouldn't be thinking about tossing it back in the setlist. I think especially since Stevie has pulled Sara back out of the grab bag lately, Sisters has a chance. Both were songs Stevie said she'd never sing again for seemingly personal reasons. She said during her Soundstage concert that she doesn't like singing Sara outside of the Mac because she feels it's a signature Fleetwood Mac song. I suspect in her eyes, both Sisters and Sara are signature FM songs, because they're both largely about her life in the band. Sara being largely about her epic love affairs and how being in the band blocked them, and Sisters being about the dark side of fame and being in the band. Seeing the way she sung Sara for Soundstage, I'd say if she has personal/emotional issues with either one of those songs, she's resolved them. She sang Sara gorgeously AND with a smile on her face for the first time EVER. The fact she also pulled out a totally random album track, Beautiful Child, I'd say the stars are aligned for a Sisters to make an appearance during this tour. Which begrudgingly has me contemplating swallowing these obscene ticket prices with the prospect of hearing Sisters live.

Back to the subject matter of the thread. Yes, they will play hit songs AND songs from their hit albums during this tour, even if the songs themselves were not major hits, but instead signature songs. Since Say You Will neither had any real hit singles, and didn't make Platinum status itself, I wouldn't expect to hear anything from it during this tour. Especially with all the talk lately from Stevie regaring being able to hear crickets chirping during the SYW tour when they'd play new songs. Hopefully we'll get an album of all new material SOON, and they'll shove it down our throats SOON! I'm forcing myself to be optimistic in 2009... :laugh:

I think that the song breakdown I provided on Page 1 is pretty much all that is even within the realm of possibility. ... and that includes I'm So Afraid, cuz that's from a hit album, it's a concert staple, and was on the HIT The Dance. This will be crowdpleasing songs that smell like success.

RE: Sisters. They won't do Sisters AND Stand Back. And I think Stand Back will be the one that's on the list.

If it comes down to the two- they shouldn't do Stand Back. Come on- It's a Stevie song- that she always plays on her solo outings.....(don't get me wrong- I do enjoy it) but SOTM would be such a gem!!! If I could pick ANY one song for them to perform, it would be Sisters of the Moon- hands down.

They're going to do what's been popular in the past and that they feel most comfortable doing. Stand Back. is. it. lol

Could be, Louie. But I think there's a psychological reason why Stevie never sang SOTM solo or with FM since 1982. In fact, isn't it the only early Mac staple that hasn't ever been performed solo? That's got to be more than just an inadvertent slip. It must be by design. The question is, What is -- or was -- that design?

Now- that is a FANTASTIC question!!! I wonder the same.
