I don't really know what he said since I only read about it second hand. Something vulgar about how she was only a road lay.

I was on the wrong thread
I was just saying I bet Stevie had a man in her life, some torrid affair, and bingo, I was
on the Soundstage review part 2, like oh my but really Dave Stewart????? |
I disagree with judging a potential lover/relationship on looks alone and actually consider Dave Stewart to be attractive - he certainly is a lovely guy, not to mention immensely talented - but if you're wondering about a physical attraction, legend has it that the guy is rather well built downstairs if you get my drift. Remember, he and one of the most incredible women in the world, Annie Lennox, were an item for quite a few years.

I remenber reading in 84 in the star magizine that Dave Steward hung out at
Stevie's house and it was a wild party. So you can only imagine what transpired, but I think cocaine was talked about in a round about way. Also I listened to the Joe Walsh interview with Howard Stern, the interview was shortly after they perform for Clinton. He said some mean things. Howard wasn't nice either. One question he asked Joe was, when you did Stevie was she fat? And yes he said road F - - K, I got annoyed and stopped listening. I can't stand Howard, however I wanted to hear the interview and what was said about Stevie. How she can forgive him amazes me. But it is her life and I am sure we all made mistakes. Darla |
What I want to know is what were the explosive situations involving Jimmy Iovine and Tom Petty? She was already broken up with Jimmy and Tom was only a friend.

I have heard a version of DCAHNM where you can clearly hear Stevie's vocal. |
I think on the Tom Petty documentary they talk about the origins of this song. It was started by Stevie and I think some vocals were laid down but Stevie ended up not finishing it so Dave took over. I think those are Stevie's vocals on the song.

Maybe Stevie figures that they were all effed up on drugs and once it's out in the public what is she going to do? How many guys would she have to be hating on? lol
I remember Henley. I think I called him an enormous ass the last time we talked about it here years ago. I still think he's an enormous ass, no matter whether Stevie does or not. 'Tough mama' may have a little trouble coming to grips with the fact that these guys are asses. That would seem to indicate a humungous lack of judgement. Pride maybe? The power of illusion? Or just being coked out and banging. I dunno which. But none of them are too pretty to look back on. |
I like Don Henley's music and the Eagles as well....I don't agree with all the things they did back in the 'day'....just read Don Felders 'Heaven & Hell' book thats out.....very very interesting read....I'm up the the part of Hotel California....He only mentions Stevie a couple of times at this point in the book.....that she and Don (Henley) had dated on and off for 2 years.....he stated that he is friends with her (that is Don Felder) to this day....and it is seperate from her relationship she has with Don Henley....he said he never spoke about Stevie with Don H either.....You may not like Stevie's relationships but well there hers.....she has to deal with them...not us.....and well if she can be 'friends' with all the the past men in her life so be it.....it is her life after all.....and what does being mad all the time and pissed off accomplish really. It really only hurts 'you' in the long run really not them......just some thoughts.....anyway......

It doesn't totally sound like Stevie to me. It sounds like Marilyn Martin.
|
You don't have to go around 'pissed off' all the time, but I don't think she should be looking through rose-colored glasses and calling some of these guys friends. I don't think a 'friend' goes on to say you were a road f**k, or a friend blabs to a national magazine about an abortion. Who would keep guys like that in their life? And why? And write songs praising them. It smacks a little of twisted thinking. How about 'don't go away mad, just go away'?
Seems she was angrier at Lindsey for a long time for a LOT less. Humph. |
