The first time I heard GDW was when I was 11, in 1977 when my brother bought the You make loving fun vynil single, and GDW was side B.
I was too young and logically found it too dark, never paid attention and probably never listened the song completely. But in mid 80s when I became a FM fan, I used to listened carefully all songs, and I loved Gold Dust Woman, all those sounds at the end, so mistic and dark,, I adored it. I had the Rumours tape and later the CD, both had all those sounds in different level, so it was great to listen it different. |
I know the glass shattering is on the original issue of the Rumours CD, but I believe they took it off both TVBofFM and the reissue (or maybe just one or the other). Something about it being "too scary". I love it and really don't get why they would take something out of the original version.

1. That a human voice is making those last noises is beyond belief. I truly wish she would give this much in her current guise.
2. CM 's voice and La Nicks' voice were sheer bliss. They played off of each other and the result was great. 3. This is a five member band with four playing instruments. Yet, the sound is huge. Sadly, it takes three other guitarists, tracks, and four or five backups to get the same sound that is, IMO, not as good. Thanks for psoting these! |
oh yes. the Philly 77 version has long been a favorite of mine.

2. I totally agree 3. I totally agree I was listening to it today. Why the hell do they have back up singers and a back up band??? They rocked the house down with just the 5 of them. They were amazing  |
