To me, Stevies solo songs sound the same as her FM songs. so Stevie solo wouldnt be a problem with me. I also have to say that i LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Christines solo 1984 solo album. More than ITM. I think the biggest solo problem with ME is Lindsey. I really am not happy with UTS, Ive listened to it at Barnes and Noble [ :laugh: ] and I've decided that L&O, OOTC and certain parts of GI [meaning all but Play In the Rain pts 1 AND 2] are all I can listen to of his, and I dont even like all of OOTC. I like his Mac stuff much better. I think that the fact that he has to think about the group and not just himself [here a quote driect from the man himself "When you're working with others, you do what's good for the whole; but if you're working on your own, you do what feels right for you."] and I think thats why he 'controls' himself a bit more in production when he's with FM.

So I could be happy I guess if there was an all male FM [Mick, John, Lindz, and maybe a male keyboardist? or another guitar player...] but like Jaz said, only if we could get another solo Stevie album. I really doubt that Chris will make another solo album, and IMO the chances of her coming back to FM are greater than that.

I really dont know what to say about the interview thing though. I mean, its good that Stevie realizes that Chris is needed. but I wonder if she is only doing it to try to get her to come back. It seems like a big hype [for all we know this is just foreshadowing something we dont know yet, like if FM and Chris already made a deal for future plans or something...] who knows...I mean this is Fleetwood Mac were talking about :laugh: very unpredictable

If I was Christine I'd be changing my phone number. :laugh: Because if Mick seriously thinks he wont get another FM album without delivering Christine to Stevie then he's going to be on that phone fairly soon.

I don't think there'll ever be another FM album. I don't think there's the collective will to make it happen. If there was then they'll find a way but don't hold your breath.

I seriously bet that Chris must have changed her phone number like 10 times at least. Mick has probably tried to call her after every interview that he reads with this info in it.

Mick will normally do whatever it takes to get an FM album started and give whatever they want to the person he thinks they need to get the album done.

With SYW that was undoubtedly Lindsey but the album to me (and Christine) sounded like Buckingham Nicks with Fleetwood and McVie as the rhythm section.

Lindsey got far too much of his own way without the English Tea Lady to stand up to him and the result was (IMO) an overlong album.

He may have had more freedom and there was more testosterone around but I believe the balance that Christine provided was sadly lacking.

Oh, there's bound to be another--as long as Mick is breathing. It just might not have any of the members we recognize. If he had to, Mick would call the Elmore Gentry lineup just to keep FM going.

You know what? I like SYW a lot. It's probably the best Mac album since Tusk. That said, I love Chris's ITM more...a lot more. I was thrilled to hear twelve new Chris songs (plus "Come Out to PLay" and the acoustic "Friend). It was an ironic fulfillment: both Mac and McVie put out more songs respectively than I had any hope to wish for.

I think her songwriting was sub-par, except for Thrown Down, which was... par.

No, the songs were good in demo form. They just needed a producer who cared and did'nt have so many "issues". I do like the production on Thrown Down. Lindsey must have cared about that song.

I agree - at least as regards his interpretation of La Nicks because I liked his SYW songs - that he had like 10+ years to produce :laugh:

i love most of his work.. but as of late he is just so annoying and bitchy and his new album sounds like he's got a clothes pin on his nose...

I do not care for Under the Skin -- I think it was cool that he took a different approach, but it just did not work for me. But, many liked it, so good for him and them.

In the end, I think like La Nicks said, CM was the better influence on the band's sound, and that influence was noticed as lacking on SYW.

He didn't give Lindsey a double album for SYW. He said he would support him but then he changed his mind (and that wasn't very loyal IMO).

Double Schmouble. SYW would easily fill up four sides of vinyl. A double CD album would be equivalent to 3 or 4 records.
