I hate more the sound of some specific words in many politicians' speeches, like "freedom" "democracy", " peace"... when I heard them coming from their mouths I cringe, because they're able to take off from them any real meaning.

"You can't have your cake and eat it too" Okay, then, why effing have a cake?!?!

"Could of/would of/should of" instead of could've/would've/should've

Just Keeping It Real.

Along with the overuse of "tragedy" in the coverage of news, as mentioned above, I'll add the title "hero" to that overused list.

Also, from the never-ending mouth of George Bush:

"Homeland security"

"God Bless Amurrca"

"Nucular"

"Thugs and murderers"

"We love peace"

Yeah. I just saw it in another post, and that reminded me. I figured it might have a traumatic effect on someone, so I apologize.

Oh, and how about:

"Are you sure?"

No, man. I said it because I knew it was wrong.

No, I don't hate that one. I use it often to really mean - "I think you're wrong, but I'll give you a chance to rethink, and then if you still say you are sure, I'll answer with 'hmmm.'"

I forgot to mention the phrase "breaking news". I hear that and it's like chewing on aluminum foil. It's usually followed by "We don't know __________ " or "We don't have any information".

Well..

Phrases I hate are:

"Are you with me? " With you? in what respect... My boss says it ALL the time...

"Breaking News" .......... What exactly qualifies for this now? At first it was a big red newsflash thingy that told of a major news story or global disaster. Even breaking wind now seems to qualify as breaking news...

As we are on the subject of Bush how about "Special Relationship"... That means Bush bends over and Blair puckers up..

And my all time favourite annoying phrase... "At the end of the day"....

At the end of the day what? The day ends.... Get over it 'cos in 24 hours it will happen again...

Hey, MFM, good to see you. :wavey: In the spirit of the above, ie, phrases your boss says that you hate, I would like to add: "Do you follow what I'm saying?" after he has just told me the simplest thing in the world. Like, "okay, we need to order paper for this job".   Just because you're a moron, doesn't mean I am. Add to that - when any person in charge says: "We need to do such and such" when they really mean you need to do it. We need to stop talking like that, mmkay?

Hey Amber :xoxo: Yes I've been in London and since I've been back here I've been working too much for my own good. So I've not been sitting on The Ledge much..

But I'll be around for a few days on and off I get the feeling..

I get that, "We need to do blah, blah, blah" No, you mean I need to do it... I do the work and you get paid for it... Thats how it works... The art of delegation.. Ah well.... Life would be boring without the morons wouldn't it?
