The 75/76 shows are my favorite. LOVE Station Man and Green Manalishi with S&L doing them. That Largo video is one of my favorites!

THE best "Manalishi" IMO was Bob Welch's version. His guitar solos on that song were abslolutely killer. Dare I say even better than the original?!? My big problem with the 75-76 versions of "Manalishi" is that Lindsey sang lead. I think that song would have made much more sense with Stevie on lead vocal. It would have been a better fit with her stage persona. Still, Christine did have a great organ solo on the 75-76 version, which keeps it interesting.

In terms of the other songs, I think that the best version that I've heard of "Spare Me A Little" and "Get Like You Used To Be" were from the Seattle '72 show. They were on fire. I will say that I like the '75-'76 version of "Spare Me A Little" better than the '74 version, but neither beats the '72 version. The best version of "Why" for me is with Stevie and Lindsey. Bob really didn't pull off the ending as well as Lindsey, IMO. That being said, Bob was SUPERIOR to Lindsey on "Believe Me." The '77 version of "Believe Me" that I've heard was mind-numbingly dull. With "Hypnotized," I think Bob rightfully owned it. I thought the '75-'76 versions were great, but, like "Manalishi," I think the song was better suited for Stevie's stage persona than Lindsey's. Finally, I agree that "Station Man" should have been kept. The '75 version was better than the original, thanks to John punching up the bass line.

And "Oh Well" was great no matter who did the song!

Actually the '84 solo tour version was super-duper, possibly the best of all the touring years. I don't think I've heard the '72 performances.

The 75-77 GM's are quite possibly the best live performances of any song ever. Of course Bob Welch's GM were amazing too but the Stevie wailing along the guitar solo just put them on top.

You sent me a copy of said '72 performance. I'd love to hear live shows from the '84 tour. All I have is the VHS from the tour, which is good, but I'd love to hear the pre-'75 stuff.

Yeah, David sent me the 1972 Sindelfingen & Seattle shows too. :laugh: I have some Christine live shows from her 1984 tour. She did "Spare Me A Little Of Your Love" & "Just Crazy Love" from the pre-1975 years. They sound great to me, although when I orginally heard them live back in 1984 I'd never heard of the songs.
