I disagree that Landslide is Stevie's best on The Dance. Silver Springs is clearly her show-stopper and how they could only devote a line or two to it saying generic things like "it was haunting" is beyond me.

It's a heartwrenching piece of flaming offle that not only makes my ears bleed but also makes my gag reflexes kick into overdrive and I vomit profusely for hours after hearing just the first note. Even if I can muster up the strength to crawl weakly over to my stereo to press the skip button, I'm not the same for days. "Vegetative" is one way to describe me.

:p

This reviewer liked like... EVERYTHING.

I always tend to skip most of Lindsey's stuff on the Dance. I'm So Afraid needs to get to the point (the prechorus & chorus) which I like... I could do without the grunts on My Little Demon.

Long intros in general bore me, so sometimes they get the skip. Like Big Love can, though I do like it. And I pretty much only like the chorus of Sweet Girl. Those are some killer chord changes that need better chords for the verses... or just new verses.

Plus this reviewer doesn't seem to notice all of the backup singers and backup musicians that get put into it. Of course it sounds great. :P

persoannly I must be one of the few people who loves Sweet Girl. I like the way did it on the Dance. However the demo version on the Enchanted Box set is not a favourite of mine.

I'm down with Sweet Girl.

Another fan here of Sweet Girl. :)

:wavey: And another Sweet Girl fan - I love that song :D - though would agree that the demo version on Enchanted is less than stellar.

I don't like Sweet Girl, but I love her voice on it (The Dance version, of course). Especially at the end.

wondergirl9847 03-16-2005 11:54 AM

I love it too

Love Sweet Girl, it's a cute lil diddy. Better than that OTHER girl. LOL

Also, I'd like to go ahead and say, I prefer Landslide to Silver Springs too. Yeah, I said it, so what. I remember hearing Landslide on my local soft rock station before I knew about FM and it touched me. When I found out Stevie sang/wrote it, I was like "Wierd...I must be psychic to have made a connection to that song."

Her live version of Silver Springs from the 70's, the one where she is going nuts...is my fave of that song, not the Dance.

"Sweet Girl" on 'The Dance' left me underwhelmed, much to my disappointment. Then I heard the 'Enchanted' version and it instantly became a favorite. :D

I like it alright, too, but mainly I'm always waiting for the "still through the sunlight days I wait, etc" part. (or whatever she's saying  ) That part is really pretty to me, and makes the song better than it would be without it. That is kind of a Stevie "parts" song for me. (One part of the song makes me like it, otherwise I wouldn't, so much)

Sweet Girl

I agree Amber..that is the best part of Sweet Girl.
"you'll come running out in the wind with me, the ocean is your blanket"....that is one of my most favorite Stevie lines. Not that deep or anything but I like the imagery. I also like the interaction during SG on the Dance...Lindsey has the most adorable grin on his face when she sings that line.

I prefer SS but agree, Landslide is also stellar on the Dance. Both are favorites.
