Exactly! I remember at the July 3rd, 2003 Dallas show, Lindsey had just finished a song and someone yelled out "Stevie!!" so I yelled out "Lindsey!!!" even louder.

Peeves me off.

And don't you just love how they cry out for her during Red Rover, I'm So Afraid, and Say Goodbye? Makes me want to vomit.

You guys need to go see Lindsey on a solo tour.....oh, wait a minute, Lindsey doesn't have a solo tour, sorry

Hawkeye 01-15-2005 12:10 AM

I do think it sucks that Lindsey delibers possibly the best performance of the night with Come, and Stevie gets monsterous applause for coming on Stage for wearing Red Boots during Gypsy. And I agree with Lux about the way everyone goes on and on about Stevie's shawl at the end of GDW, although I would say GDW ROCKED this tour, because of the way Stevie performed it and the band not the shawl.

Yep...

That's EXACTLY what I need. You know what though? Even though, people went to the OOTC tour, there were some a-holes who yelled out "Where's Stevie?!"

 A$$holes.

Hehe...Don't Look Down (live!) just came on my iTunes....good omen. :)

It's my fave song that she did on the SYW tour. She rocks that song and the howl/growl thing is kick a$$.

2nd place: Beautiful Child. :)

Does anyone else interpret the lyrics to Silver Springs as meaning Lindsey cheated on Stevie? I do not think that is what they mean at all..I always thought she was saying, "now that we have broken up and there are other women in your life, I do not want to know about it. I do not want to hear that she loves you or that you think she is pretty and remember you will never get away from me, the woman who really loved you. Maybe I am way off but I do not hear "he cheated on me" in her lyrics. She wrote the song after they had drifted apart and began seeing other people and it hurt..she just did not want to know what he felt for the new women..she wanted to remember what she wanted him to feel for HER. (shining autumn, ocean crashing, only dream, yadda yadda...)

Not a fan of the canned stuff either but alot of the stuff some people see as "canned", I see differently. I hate when people yelled out Stevie's name during the quiet parts of Say Goodbye. SO RUDE! Shut up and listen!

Slightly off topic but along the lines of "being rude"....as much as I enjoyed LB's guitar masturbation during the SB intro..I sort of felt it took the attention away from Taku's fantastic percussion. He even edited LIB to include the ladies screaming "go Lindsey...go Lindsey~"
If Stevie would have twirled for two or three minutes straight during one of LB's guitar solos or something..Sheebus........
*note ..I thought his moves with the guitar were swoonworthy, he is hot and was really working it but still..kind of rude with his choice of timing and all.

Interesting isn't it, how some people love this part..I really felt embarressed by it to be honest and wishing he'd hurry up and get it finished with.

I can totally understand that. It was very over the top. I felt it went on way too long but still, the man is hot.
Yea it did border on pornographic some nights with the slow rubbing of the guitar in circles ...wow.

I love LB's SB dance. I think it is so cool how much he gets into "Stevie's" song! I don't think it takes away from anybody else, only adds to it.

After they broke up, I always figured Stevie kind of went her own way (all puns intented!), happy to be out of a stifling relationship, but not ready to get into another one. Heartbroken Lindsey (I figure) started consoling himself with, perhaps a string of other women, or perhaps just one...

Whatever...my point is that I don't think that SS refers to Lindsey cheating on her...just the different ways they reacted to the break up.

And I realize that this breakup was messy and complicated, but I always hate it when people see this performance (which is awesome!) and say, "Oh poor Stevie!" She broke it off with him!!! But anyway...

And Lindsey's OOTC show was the best concert experience of my life (yes, over all the FM and Stevie solo tours I've seen), so I certainly need another solo tour. In fact I can't even imagine going to see Stevie solo again unless I can get in the front row, and even that's a maybe. Been there done that...

In the additional footage from the Tusk doc that is floating around out there, he is most definitely obnoxious to her. The part where they are tying to work on Angel and she is trying to explain about the "low Mills Brothers harmonies" and you can see it in him, there is just a lot of anger bubbling right beneath the surface. Not to mention he's holding a bottle of cognac. He's thin as a rail in that video and looks almost like Perry Farrell when they show him doing his vocals. But I digress. It seems that of the two of them, the break up and subsequent success was hardest on him, if that makes sense.
I don't think he knew what was coming that night in 1997 when she suddenly turned into the Stevie of old right before his and everyone else's eyes. It was something to behold for sure.

True. But he is backed by a fabulously lit set and Egyptian orchestra. His high range is gone. :o The last time I saw him, he was playing smaller venues, so...

No. I thought they referred to Carol Ann Harris.
