I second Marty's comments, and not because this is HIS board. For a Fleetwood Mac board, it seems there is rarely any Mac talk going on. Just like the in the Presidential race, let's get back to the issues:

- What is Stevie wearing, and will she really be back in the studio this fall for her new album?

- Is Lindsey recording and working his fingers to the nub to give us some great music? I hope so!

- Isn't it great that Christine's new single is a hit? I actually heard it on the radio! And did anyone see the commercial for her album during the "Destiny Rules" Vh1 re-broadcast on Sunday?

- I'm glad Mick made his own album. Even though I probably won't buy it. I really liked The Visitor though...

- Where the hell is John? :wavey:

I agree with you. I thought the original poster was making some important points, despite the bluster. I would still be curious to see the answers to the unanswered questions.

Oh please... It's just a BBS! Privately owned, I might add.

Mari 08-25-2004 02:22 PM

well, let's start with the stickie-issue.
Here's a printscreen I just made.

See what's happening? There's only ONE other subject visible besides the stickies. So you nearly always have to scroll down.
It's a nice gadget, but I agree it's gotten a bit out of hand & it's a cause of irritation.

I don't get it how we use the word 'private' for a forum that's visited by hundreds. If not thousands. Would be interesting to philosophize about, mm?

Damn that scrolling!!! I actually HAVE to move my finger a little bit?!?!?

Seriously, I'm just having fun. I think stuff like this is hilarious.

see what happens when you take the summer off??? I needed the sticky's to get the gossip. but I always miss the good feuds  someone pm me and tell me the scoop

Mari 08-25-2004 02:30 PM

"Seriously, I'm just having fun." ;) I like the inherent contradiction in that statement.

Back to the issues at hand: Don't you think these stickies should go in a separate forum? I mean, all of a sudden you have the same dang post everywhere, and no one is responding to it anywhere. What's the point? Create a place for these things and be done with it.

I own a store and the land the store is built on. Thousands of people come in my store every year but I don't want any animals brought in, or any food eaten in my store, or any smoking in my store. I have these requests posted where everyone can see them and I ask everyone to abide by my wishes. I can say that because it's my store, my land and a public place where thousands of people can visit.

Does that help?

NO, let's not start with the stickie-issue. Marty has already answered the question in his post. Why do you feel the need to get him to change his mind? It's his board, and it's his decision.

Here's a computer tip: if your finger gets tired from scrolling, take your hand off the mouse for approximately a second and hit a little key called "Page Down".

You know what the worst thing about analogies is? They usually fail. A store where commerce is transacted is hardly parallel to a forum created expressly for the purpose of exchanging ideas. That's where your analogy fails, and miserably so.

What's wrong with trying to change his mind? Marty has made changes to the boards before based on input from the community members. Do you see something wrong with that?

Well, which finger should you use for that? ;)

Wait, you mean to tell me Christine's new single is a hit!! Holy ****! :woohoo:
