Agreed, but IMO so are a lot of other songs they might do. I still say if they need to change a song, it's DS (though I know others would prefer Dreams or Rhiannon).

In fact, I think it returned when "Destiny Rules" disappeared.

Personally, I like that Lindsey & Stevie are doing "Don't Stop." It's hard for me to imagine anyone else singing Christine's songs... although I know it's always been a part of Fleetwood Mac's history to continue performing songs by former members. But I think that, of all of Chris' tunes, "Don't Stop" is about the only one that someone else can get away with singing. And maybe it's because Lindsey was already singing the co-lead on it.
Same with "World Turning."

Thanks for the update. I haven't read the reviews/setlists since early in this leg.
I think there are other Chris songs that would work, and whether changed or not, I'd sooner see a Chris song not used at the end. JMO.

I care very much for Christine's songs, but to each his own.

Let's see...I would love to see them end with "Crystal" or "Storms." I like GB well enough, though.

I think Storms would be amazing, but not at the end. It's just too heavy. Stevie has said that she does not like to leave the audience on a sad note, but the lyric "Not all the prayers in the world could save us" might do just that.

I'd like to see them shuffle GB into the set where Landslide is and end the show with Landslide... They could still do the dedication to the audience or whom ever... and still do the little hug and stand there and take the applause... Then Mick and John could come walking out... stand beside the two of them... Take their bows and Mick could say his speach... I think that would be pretty great.

I thought about Landslide as the closer. As great as it would fit there in a lot of ways, for the last song I think all the members should be performing.

It started out as a jam inspired by Peter Green's song "The World Keep On Turning." :)

And I remember reading that Stevie was super p!ssed that Lindsey would write a song with Chris but not with her.

Having said that, I wouldn't count out anything from now on with the Mac  . So I still have hope for Crystal!

If you mean that their performances of these songs have been good, I agree (for the ones I've seen).
If you mean they've done a great job including die-hards' picks, I say not really.
But I'm with you on bringing Crystal into the set.

Just as I see it.

I agree, not as a closer, but I'd love to hear SM, Hypnotized, and Oh Well.

I love the 1975 live versions of Station Man and Hypnotized and LIndsey's Oh Well on the Live album.

I don't think Crystal would be great as a live-song. LB doesn't sing that .. what's the word? with attention, with details? .. live. I love Crystal on the white album, because he sings it sooo softly. He never sings like that live.

I'd love it if they did another BN song! Lola is my favorite, but not as a closer. More pre-1975 Macsongs would be great too!

Closer

I was thinking that if they let Lindsey take the closing song, that he could do an acoustic version of "Steal Your Heart Away". But he should do it in the style of "Soul Drifter" when he toured solo - just himself, a shortened, slow version of it. It's quite sad-sounding like "GB" is now, but also a little more uplifiting. I always thought that would make a great closer.

GypsySorcerer 05-30-2004 10:33 AM

"Stephanie" would be a nice closer, too.... I love this song. Of course, they already play the recording of "Albatross" as people are leaving. I still maintain that they should use "Songbird" instead.

Surely he can't give in to "the group’s collective femaleness" on stage (except for the whole SN interaction). ;)

I completely agree, this would be a perfect closer of the show..I've been dreaming of exactly what you described since before the tour began in 2003

Johnny Stew was just joshin' ya, earthdreamer. World Turning was written by Stevie & Lindsey.
