You know what, I'm NOT going to see a show this leg. Unless it comes back in Charlette. That's the highlight of the show for me. I could put up with no DLMDA and could just bear DR but there aint NO WAY I'm putting up with this crap. And I know Cory Buckingham will have something to say about this.

The only thing that will make this exceptable will be if Siters of The Moon comes to the set in Charlotte. Of course if it does just come back in Charlotte all will be fine, but MY GOD Sara is in the set SIlver Springs is out, There is NO justice in the world.

In order to avoid controversy and out of respect for the other posters on this board, i'll PM you the lowdown if you'd like. I can just see me saying what I have to say getting really ugly and I don't want it to turn out that way
.
.
You COULD put what happened in one of those blue spoiler boxes, that way anyone who wants to read it can and those who don't don't have to.

It was posted on another board that someone asked Cory why didn't Stevie do SS and she said that Stevie is sick.

Yeah but that same poster on Mick's board also said that Stevie was completely on par for the rest of her performances and was on par with the Atlanta energy/fire.

Hawkeye 05-19-2004 12:21 AM

I don;t know whether to consider that a good thing or a bad thing. It's good that, that means the song will come back when she gets better. But I don;t want another TISL tour fiasco. I hope it's avery samll sickness that will get better very quickly. And I guess I could see dropping Silver Springs if she was sick, it is one of the more vocally challenging songs. She belts it. Although so is GDW and BC. And from what i hear Sara gets up there in the end. I REALLY want to read these reviews to see if the sickness was noticeable in her performances.

From Joy at the Mick board

They did not play Silver Springs. Alex, being the thinker of our group, asked Cory B. why not, and she said that Stevie is sick. But spit if I could tell, she did a kick @ss show in my book. Her performance was surely on par with Atlanta and a lot of the last shows of the US tour last year.

I also left the show all concerned about Lindsey too. He was great great great right up until Mick's drum solo. Then he left the stage (whereas he'll usually kick it on the floor on the side of the stage, mop his brow and look for someone to throw a towel to) and when he came back he totally missed his WT cue (Mick must have said his name 3 times before Lindsey started playing) and I noticed a cut over his eye when he came back to the mic. It was about 3/4 inch long. He kept kind of grimacing. He also had some blood dripped on his shirt. Anyway, it was weird because at the first part of WT he was completely cool (he was totally joking around and stuff even) but then he came back really different. He missed the first line or 2 of Don't Stop. When they went to do the bow, I guess Stevie could tell there was something wrong and I saw him motion to his eye and she said, "what happened?" He just kind of shrugged and stomped off stage. Didn't sign an autograph or wait for Mick to finish his "be good to each other" speech or anything.

She was sick, according to Cory...NO ONE WORRY! It was a one night thing.. :wavey:

Man...

I wonder if someone threw something at Lindsey while he was onstage? I remember the ol' Journey doctumentary "Frontiers And Beyond" and it showed Neal Schon getting hit with a bottle that some putz threw and it nailed him right in the head...But being the soldier he is, Neal carried on (Even though he was obviously injured and very po'd).

With all due respect, didn't she also tell us Stella was NOT at the Atlanta show when MANY fans saw the baby with their own eyes? In your opinion, was Stevie "off" on any of her performances in such a way that made you think she was under the weather? Because Joy posted in her review that Stevie was full of energy, as much or even more so than Atlanta. I just don't understand how she could be too sick to do SS but full of energy to perform Stand Back so well.

I'm going to the CLT show on Thursday and I hope things are back to normal!

Joy didn't notice he was bleeding until after he came back from WT. She said up until he left the stage everything was fine. She said he didn't seem angry or anything when he left, he just left. And when he came back, he was bleeding and seemed "off."

"sick" can mean a lot of things...not necessarily illness...

Unfortunately a common occurrence. Something else could have happened though. He might have hit himself with the guitar or the mic. Hitting yourself with the mic is expecially very common. The way Lindsey sings at the mic, it's a wonder that he hasn't broken a few teeth.

Or maybe his wife wacked him over the head backstage. Or he tripped.

Anyhoo, I wish they would tell us because I wanna make sure my man is all right. Partly for his own sake and partly because my show is coming up.

Silver Springs is better NOW than it was on The Dance, imo. I'm glad I didn't waste my money on a ticket for this leg... the setlist changes they've made are steadily getting dropped.. No thanks on spending close to 300 bucks for 2 tickets and some merch. to see the same thing again.

Violet 05-19-2004 08:57 AM

Say it ain't so!

This can't be...they HAVE to do Silver Springs....It's going to be on my mind until we find out if they play it in Charlotte. :distress: Wonder if we'll find out the story behind the cut on Lindsey's head, maybe from Cory.

Sick?

I think someone above said what I was thinking too. "Sick" can mean alot of things. I will say that Silver Springs, IMO, was better than the Dance on Saturday in Atlanta. I mean she totally blew it out of the house. During the first part of this tour, she was rather subdued during Silver Springs but not Saturday night. She rocked and rocked hard. She also was very physically expressive with the foot stomping and mic bending and fists flying. I thought she would never be able to top the Dance dvd but me thinks she did. Even LB was better, pounding his chest and really giving it right back to her. Maybe the intensity of the song on Saturday was something she did not want to repeat on Tuesday, so she decided to take a break from it? I can't see the song being dropped for good however. IMO it was probably just a one night thing.

I do hope we hear something about ole LB because the thought of him bleeding from the head worries me also. I realize it was described as a minor cut but still, he seemed off after he came back from his WT break. He normally sits on the side of the stage during Micks solo, maybe he had to pee?
Ah, this band..always confusing!
